Comet ISON goes green ?

Maybe the government shutdown is happening because they have all gone underground or buggered off to mars. This is getting exciting.

I didn't mentioned any doom talk here, but rather said that our bank accounts are going to be replenished , the weirdness I described can head into every corner you want to think....

wow that's amazing one day I have to buy some of that equipment you're using .. I've got an old mizar newton mirror telescope lying in the dust on my attic without oculars , damn shame that I can't use that thing to see it myself ..

You linked ISON "turning green" to the government shutdown, yet both events are explained and obviously clearly unrelated to anyone that is not a complete moron looking for some sort of doom. Or do you see this proposed connection as an indication of positive events?

yes positive, green is always positive it let's you drive along the road,with non polluted power, it's around every forest .. Green is okay for me

Does anybody else remember a post several years back from someone claiming to be a government entity? The person claimed that there would be a green comet visible for the period of 3? days, and that nobody should venture outside during this time. Just interesting.

I keep hearing that we will pass underneath it's tail, not through it.

But then again, the guy that says "Hey Y'all! Watch this!" while others are filming was pretty confident too. LOL

Here is some info from NASA www.space.com... Sounds like we may be getting it from both sides but we may not be able to even see the tiny meteors they are so small.

Rats....I like watching meteor showers....Even in January when it is cold. Trouble is that it is usually cloudy here around the twelfth of January. It usually clears up and gets warm for a week around the twentieth.

This isn't a good or a bad omen, it's just science.. The green color is just an indication of the presence of copper (oxide) in the comet.. it's not unusual in any way.

They sell torch lighters with a ball of copper to give them a blue green flame.. same idea

Even satellites entering the atmosphere often burn green because of the copper content.

You are confusing a rapid oxidation ( burning, chemical reaction) with a fluorescent effect.

This is not a copper emission, it is a fluorescent effect from the exposure of ultra-violet light on cyanogen and diatomic carbon gasses in the comet nucleus.

Well, a new prediction. I can't completely understand it but see that there seems to be unexpected changes as to the path of ISON and as to the possible fate of the comet. Does anyone know how to interpret this information better than I? I haven't enough knowledge of comets to interpret the evidence. I am wondering if the breakup of this comet will cause more meteors that will effect earth.

Searching for alternative space sites for comet Ison path-trajectory -change of color or breaking up?

Didn't USA just launch a satellite and probe just a month ago Virginia I believe.

They are quoting one astronomer. He may be right, he may be not. In astronomy, it usually takes a consensus of several astronomers or observatories to establish something with good certainty.

But comets, as it is well known, are hard to predict. I don't think the green colour has appeared suddenly, and I don't think ISON is "about to break up". It's still very far from the Sun.

Update: ISON interacts with Mars

Kind of alarming, but Electric Universe stuff. The comet has a charge and they interact electrically, this changes Ison to green ,changing some chemisty, hopefully not the toxic change green implies but quite possibly.

And, mars becomes a comet for a while.

Second time encountering this now. With the radio interview, and some captured shots here from someone.

I hope this didn't happen, that this is somehow put out by sorcha or some disinfo, because I don't like it one bit.

It didn't. At least, nothing happened to Mars.
It's called scintillation. Atmospheric distortion.
