Its a fear tactic employed to prepare people for whats coming. CUTS. Cuts to your pothole and snowblower crews. Cuts to your kids school supplies.
Cuts to the number of fire departments.
They can't "shut down" now anymore than they could when the big bailout happened, remember? The banks said if you don't pay us we will "crash the
economy" and everything will be destroyed.
That is the threat now too, isn't it?
After they raise the "money they can borrow" limit, they will say (with heavy brow and sad voice) we are so sorry we had to raise your rates and
take a little more from your check. We had to (open palms, pleading) otherwise we would have had to dun, dun, dun, dunnn... shut down.
Tomorrow when you wake up you will notice little different as they move on to their next scripted dog and pony show in the halls of Government,
Business and Media.
Oh, that pothole you run over on the way to work will still be there.
