Assad Lays Down His Conditions: "US Must Stop Aiding Terrorists", Israel Disposing Of WMDs; Accuses Saudi, Qatar And Turkey

It was only a matter of time before Syria's Assad, emboldened by Obama's recent backtracking and confident he has all the leverage and momentum, started laying down his own conditions. And here they are, as per RIA and Interfax citing an interview with Assad to air in its entirety later today on Rossia 24 TV:

ASSAD CALLS FOR ISRAEL TO DISPOSE OF WMD (!)
ASSAD: 'REBELS MAY USE CHEMICAL WEAPONS AGAINST ISRAEL AS PROVOCATION'
ASSAD SAYS CHEMCIAL ARMS DEAL DEPENDS ON US STOPPING AID TO TERRORISTS
ASSAD SAYS WILL COMPLETE DEAL ONLY IF US STOPS "POLICY OF THREATS"
ASSAD ACCUSES TURKEY, SAUDI ARABIA, QATAR OF SUPPORTING TERRORISTS IN SYRIA
ASSAD EXPECTS TO START HANDING OVER INFO ON CHEMICAL WEAPONS ONE MONTH AFTER JOINING OPCW
ASSAD: 'ANY WAR AGAINST SYRIA WILL BECOME A WAR THAT WILL DESTROY THE WHOLE REGION'
ASSAD: 'NO COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, PRIMARILY ISRAEL, SHOULD HAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION'
SYRIA TO SEND DOCUMENTS TO UN, CHEMICAL WEAPONS GROUP SOON
ASSAD SAYS IMPLEMENTATION OF DEAL MAY TAKE A MONTH OR MORE

Seems unwise to be making demands whilst staring down the barrel of a gun wielded by someone with an itchy trigger finger.

It sounds like, Assad has his ducks in a row. Something has caused him to become pretty damn brave. We already know that he is in bed with Russia, but, did they just pull the covers up over their heads?

He is looking like the school yard bully with his peons backing him up.

OR

Maybe he actually has and Ace up his sleeve .. .. . .. ?

Now what is funny is that he had just agreed to turn all of his chemical weapons over to Russia, however, that is apparently Not so, as he issues a threat of use with his demands.

He agreed to turn his chemical weapons over to the international community, Russia is supporting it but they won't be getting them, they will be involved in collecting and destroying them for sure. They are building a team from several nations =)

But yes I think Assad is getting brave because he knows that the US's option of bombing him isn't popular among people like Russia, China, Iran and of course many Americans .. Obama has a lot of pressure on him NOT to bomb Assad .. so Assad is basically sticking his tongue out at him and yelling "nanana booboo"

#1 on your list will NEVER happen.....No chance, at all! The USA will never force Israel to give up their WMD's....

This is getting very ugly, yet again! How is Assad able to put requirements on his "diplomatic solution"?

Prepare to be attacked Mr. Assad....Russia/China, get ready for WW3....You don't boss Mr. Obama around, and it won't work.....

And this is how the stage is being delibrately manipulated for "who know's" what.

It's like a man telling his friends to hold him back while he's trying to push forward saying... "Come at me bro" Just making a scene... Feels like the DPRK scenerio now... Or is it just me???

Here is a bit more from RT

Link

Talking to the Russian TV channel, Assad reiterated that the US has failed to present evidence that the Syrian government was behind the incident.

No country in the Middle East, including Israel, should possess weapons of mass destruction, Assad said. That would protect the region and the world from devastating and expensive wars in future, he said.

“If we want stability in the Middle East, all the countries in the region should stick to [international] agreements," Assad said. “And Israel is the first state that should do so, since Israel possessed nuclear, chemical, biological and all other kinds of weapons of mass destruction.”

I don't know what is behind this bold position. Assad must smell blood. He certainly does not look like a man on the ropes. He must have some kind of assurances from Russia and China.

World leaders on the situation in Syria
As Syria's opposition reacted to the initiative of the Russian

The armed wing of the Syrian opposition - Free Syrian Army (FSA) - rejected the Russian initiative on the transfer of chemical weapons in Syria under the supervision of the international community. "Free Syrian Army announces the categorical refusal of the Russian initiative, involving international control of chemical weapons," - said on Thursday the commander of the armed groups SAA Selim Idris.

As Vladimir Putin has decided to personally convince Americans

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday appealed directly to the American people and American politicians, stating in the New York Times Russia's position on the situation in the world and the situation around Syria. "He (the stroke) may undermine multilateral efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and lead to further destabilization in the Middle East and North Africa. Strike in Syria could unbalance the whole system of international law", - Putin wrote in his article. Read more >>

As John Kerry managed to save "the sinking Obama"

Mikhail Rostov to RIA Novosti , "John Kerry heads the American diplomacy only anything. But it is clear what is its greatest strength as a leader of the Foreign Ministry. This ability is amazing just to make missteps. Remarque Kerry - say, let him give up control of Damascus international community, its stockpile of chemical weapons, and then America may abandon its plans bombing of Syria - was "accidental oversight." Nothing like the bosses of the Obama administration did not agree. But this official Washington gaffe allowed to escape from the trap into which he drove himself. Not unreasonable.

Although the US and israel will never agree.

Its crazy if you think about it. That the US is openly trying to overthrow his government.

Isnt that an act of war?

Meh, I guess it doesnt matter. What can a 3rd world nation do against the one remaining super power...

Agreed... This is a poison pill big enough to kill an elephant. John Kerry must be happy with himself. Now he can honestly say they tried and failed...and have no choice but to kill him.

I contest that rendering of the facts...
Assad said ...the 2nd line of the OP list~ [

...ASSAD: 'REBELS MAY USE CHEMICAL WEAPONS AGAINST ISRAEL AS PROVOCATION'

He clearly states that the FSA forces may use chemical weapons.... He does not accuse the AQ/al Nusra/Jihadists/Rebel Barbarians of past use of Sarin gas...but he is maintaining that his surrendering of the Syrian WMDs does not guarantee that the insurgents won't conduct a strike on Israel with their own sources of WMDs

i.e. :enemy forces staging a False Flag chemical weapons attack... the background on this is that there is rumors/reports that the Rebel Barbarians have Saudi/Qatar supplied agents already, and more over these Rebels are funded and armed by a host of nations including the USA/Saudi Arabia/Qater/Turkey/ Libya to cite a few who might stage a black-ops gas attack to provoke a wide-scale bombing of a negotiating Syria that is stsnding-down in the eyes of the world

How is Assad able to put requirements on his "diplomatic solution"?

Thats what diplomacy is, working together to reach a mutually beneficial end goal...

Otherwise its not diplomacy its threats at gun point, which is what the US is trying to do, while Russia is trying to be the Diplomat here.

We are the bully forcing threats, in that case right, Assad better listen, But now its Diplomacy, so we must be civilized and actually talk this out.

I agree Benrl. I think that's the outcome we all hope for. Talk. Talk BEFORE war.

The dumbest thing about this crap ..and ALL wars like this, where there is actually time to debate DOING it, in advance?! Well, it's STILL going to come down to talk in the end. Peace doesn't just "happen" ask the Japanese about their tour of the USS Missouri. That came following talks and agreements. They didn't just teleport to the gangplank and sign papers, unseen. lol...

So, I couldn't agree more. Talk before the death or talk after it? We'll talk to settle this either way. Before...would be nice.

Assad Lays Down His Conditions: "US Must Stop Aiding Terrorists"

.... says the guy who has his own cadre of terrorists. Rather comical.

It's past time for the world to rise up and knock these clowns off their perches ... and while we are at it, slap some sense into the religious extremists who enable the clowns in various parts of the world .... ugh

ETA ... people seem to think that I'm talking about Assad alone when I say 'knock these clowns off their perches ... but I'm talking about ALL the clowns .... everywhere.

Well that seems to have gotten a lot back on the path to wanting something done. He tells Obama he need to stop funding terrorists, but threatened terrorist attacks on America, and her allies if we strike. Contradicting ones self pretty bad.

As for Isreal destroying WMD's...... not gonna happen. That is maybe the only deterrent that is keeping them alive. Enemies on every corner get real Assad.

ALL OF THEM. Assad. Obama. Putin. And every self messianic, self obsessed, liar who runs a country or 'religious' (terrorist) group. They all point at the other ... claiming that the other supports terrorism. But they are hypocrites because they also support it.
