is Israel the reason behind the United States wanting to strike Syria.
Im not saying Israel is responsible for the chemical weapons attack;
but is the diplomacy options and politics involved related at all to Israel's and Syria's relationship?

all of this is just stuff that I've read on the internet and im asking you if you think at all that the reason behind the United States involvement in the middle east has anything to do with our relationship to Israel?

A lot of things we get involved in within the middle east revolve around Israel.....

With Obama being Muslim, I don't know why he cares about "god's people"....

Funny. Um ... yes he certainly can. He has said he needs no approval from Congress.
He is the commander in chief. If he says 'bomb' ... then the forces have to bomb.
It's very simple. He can indeed call 'the shot' on Syria.

Right now it's PUTIN .... Certainly not Obama.
But Obama can at any time tell the military to bomb.

I believe the entire thing may have been a ruse to allow the US to plow an air corridor through Syria for future Israeli strike on Iran nuke sites. A US strike would have included destroying much of Syria's air defense systems to include Radar, missiles, aircraft and air fields.

The damage would have lasted a good while giving Israel a window to over fly Syria on way to Iran. This way Iraq and Saudi would not have to open up their own skies to Israel relieving them of any responsibility of Israel's actions.

I think Turkey are also demonstrating a willingness for the U.S to strike. Which is strange as Turkey deemed itself an enemy of Israel.

France have an interest also, with Syria being under their rule for a period of time.

But, yeah Israel are primed for a U.S strike.

It's not Israel mate. Follow the trails from 9/11 to all the conflicts since. It's Saudi Arabia. Dont fall into that trap.

One of the reasons is that there is a huge deposit of oil/gas under the Golan Heights and Assad will not agree to Israel having it because that land belongs to Syria, despite Israel having grabbed it. Should they invest in trying to get to the deposit all Assad has to do is to have it blown up, so until Assad has gone and Israel can settle down happily to get at this deposit.
