Please forgive me, I meant to use speculation pointing to prediction of something unknown happening next month , however, whats the difference predicting doom every month or asking are we there yet are we there yet?

It has the same negative influence on the mind of worrying about something unknown based on an interpretation you have of trying to figure whats coming based on media and information available via the net and such.

Its good to prepare for the worst,

Its unhealthy to speculate over and over about what will happen tomorrow if it has a negative impact.

If your in a position with FEMA where your job is to speculate on data available to make possible outcomes and work out preparation plan or disaster plan then fire away, do your job.

I am pointing out that wild speculation trying to link random events world wide to get a picture of whats to come is path one takes when the destination they wish to reach whether consciously or unconsciously is insanity, a fractured mind where the shared reality we share becomes almost inhospitable place to reside.

I see the connections your making and understand what your saying,

I just choose to fight the negative news or negative what ifs with the uncertainty of tomorrow and that no matter how bad it seems like you point out in your OP we can change our fate for the better without having some major event or catastrophe happen to wake humanity up, we need to do it ourselves, if we are forced, it becomes a manipulation and through manipulation is how we trap each other into boxes and start labeling each other with so many labels that we forget who we are.

The Federal government runs a fiscal year from October 1 to September 30. All of this "needs to be fulfilled by October 1" just means that it is open for bid in this fiscal year -- if you can't deliver by the end of the fiscal year, you can't bid on the contract.

Absolutely nothing is going to happen on October 1, 2013, except that the Federal government will switch to the next fiscal year.

Funny story, that.
