Detroit runs out of paper for death certificates, no money to buy more.

Death (certificates) took holiday in wake of bankruptcy filing.

Detroit’s funeral directors received this unusual text message last month. “FYI, city of Detroit can’t process death certificates because they have no paper and don’t have money to buy any.”

The message, from a fellow funeral director, was mostly true: The city did stop issuing certified copies of birth and death certificates on July 23, days after the July 18 bankruptcy filing. That day, a nervous paper vendor demanded cash — and the city wanted to do business as usual, on credit.

So the vendor which usually supplies the paper for birth and death certificates got a little nervous.

Instead of accepting his normal promissory notes with an agreement to pay in the future, he demanded cash.

Problem is, Detroit has no cash...

I got an idea, instead of spending $2 million/missile to kill more people, maybe the federalies could give Detroit a couple hundred bucks?

Guess it could be worse. At-least they havent run out of toilet paper... yet.

I wonder if keeping the official blacksmith for horseshoes on horses Detroit didn't even have anymore was worth it? I did a thread about that guy last year....when people claimed it was no big deal to waste the money)

How many cases of security paper could that have bought them? Naww... They're a Union Shop. Top to bottom and wall to wall. No one can ever be laid off or let go, you'd think, until TOTAL collapse comes and it's time for ALL to fail together.

I understand the 'All for One' concept that Unions operate on, but it's become a suicide pact to defend every last dollar ...while losing the whole war. Detroit is the largest example of this total insanity..but it won't be the last.

Until the city leaders of Detroit are frog marched in cuffs to account for what they've done to innocent people there? No one is serious about anything but covering their own ass.
