I equate this like how a tabloid would simplify a petty conflict between celebrities, but there is much deeper rooted issues beyond Assad or Obama who are merely each nations separate figureheads while they have teams of puppet masters working behind the scenes trying to kill each other off 'indirectly'.

Once Assad goes, because at this point it seems fairly inevitable someone is going to assassinate him,
it would be best to withdraw willing civilians and allow the Rebels to fight it out until they to come a truce.

Then attempt to stabilize the country through trying to bring the army or some sense of a real one back under a centralized command of the winning entity, hopefully the most secularized band of Syrian Rebels who wipe out the extremists, amirite.

You could put Ronald Mcdonald in power and less people would die.

What right does the west or any other nation have telling him how to run his country? By what right does the west have in invading his country when they have no proof of who used the chemical weapons. The FSA has posted videos on youtube of them testing chemical weapons on animals. The FSA has posted videos of them eating the organs of dead people and these are the people that the west wants to replace Assad?

Does this apply to American dictators? As other members have already pointed out, our dictators have also killed civilians in many other countries (many of them children).

Now, think about that for a second.
So, we come in there and bomb all of those targets only to find out that Assad did exactly what he said he was going to do and put human shields at all of those locations.

All of the targets are dead as well as the human shields.
