Well, the last time we talked about affordability and the White House in the same paragraph, we talked about healthcare....and we see how THAT is working out...not.

All of this spending is flat out NOT sustainable.

And, trust me, when the government is doing "helping" this issue...what is left of the middle class will not be able to attend anything past high school.

Is it even really worth going to college anymore? I just turned twenty-two a few months back, and I have yet to enroll in college. When I graduated highschool, I decided to wait before attending. I felt that I needed to grow up, and that I wasn't mentally prepared for higher education. And I didn't want to just jump in immediately, with little to no idea on what to get a degree in.

And I honestly feel that it was for the best. I wasn't the best student in highschool. Far from it in fact. So I would have needed to take out some pretty steep student loans in order to pay for tuition. That was unacceptable to me, since I really didn't wish to have a mountain of debt looming over my head once everything was said and done. And if something were to happen to me, and my parents were stuck paying off my debt? That was even more unacceptable in my mind.

Now...I'm unsure of what to do. I would like to go to school. Hell...I wouldn't mind paying my own way through college. I'd prefer it actually. Hence, I feel the need to reiterate my earlier question. Would it even be worth it? With the way the job market is, and with how much higher education costs, I just don't know. Perhaps I'll learn a trade instead. Construction or such, I don't know. It would certainly be more affordable.

And now the Government feels the need to get even more involved? I don't expect anyone to pay for my living expenses, my health, or my education. Nor should anyone really. Focusing more on job creation would be a better alternative. Help students find work in order to help pay for their education, rather than forcing taxpayers (many of whom are already financially strained) to do so for them. And focus more on creating jobs that said students can fill once they graduate, so that they can put their degree's to actual use.

Isn't our system screwed up enough as it is
