He does sign that it is an act of Treason IMO

No, as I understand it this treaty just has to do with exporting weapons to other countries- not anything actually in the country.

For 'now' maybe.

And don't discount the black markets. They don't recognize 'treaties'.

And Neville Chamberlain said trust the Nazis too.

That worked out real well.

Careful what you wish for. Dreams do come true sometimes.

And you will become your own victim.

386,000 foriegn troops training here? OMG, we're doomed.

Let's for a moment say that they, they being the govt., declare martial law. Let's assume for the moment that half the military goes along... OK. Plus the foreign troops...

How will they enforce anything in the contiguous United States? Much less say Alaska? Oh, sure some'll go along with it... But many, many will not. Many of those will be armed, some rather heavily...

A bloodless martial law is impossible. The death toll would be horrifying.

They did, actually:
OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF STATES IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SAY ‘YES’ TO ARMS TRADE TREATY

Might want to check that date again. I believe that was the failed first draft from earlier this year. Unless they've changed their minds since I went to bed last night, Canada has not signed on to the latest version.

so noted but then there is this:

The treaty, which relates only to cross-border trade and aims to keep weapons out of the hands of human rights abusers and criminals

could be used as a tool to keep tabs on you the owner of said weapon, sell it and said buyer uses it in an act of said abuses and it could come back on you the seller, or in time of civil unrest, could be used as a tool to see whom has a weapon in troubled area ie a Katrina type event, to come and for "the safety of others" take them. it still needs the Senate stamp of approval
, still requires ratification by the U.S. Senate and has been attacked by the influential gun rights group the National Rifle Association (NRA).
