I have just seen an Air Ambulance, Police Helicopter and several Police cars and vans in the village of Auldhouse near East Kilbride.

The word circulating is that there has been a double shooting.
One possibly fatal, one less serious (legs wounds).

Workers in the village have overheard that there was a man with a shotgun, who is still at large.

Air Ambulance has now left the scene with the casualties, Police helicopter is still circling.

No further details yet.

Separate source has now confirmed two shot. One possibly fatal.
Father and son. Names are known, but I don't want to put in print yet.

Two Police helicopters now circling the area, suggesting that they are still looking for the perpetrator.

The deceased man (victim) owned a farm and riding centre, he had plans to expand the site and build an "international standard" equestrian centre. This involved bringing in lorry loads of infill (soil and rubble) to raise an area of land. The shooter was a driver who worked for one of the truck companies involved with delivering this infill. Local speculation is that the two men had a disagreement regarding the deliveries.
The deceased man had already been fined by the local council for breaching the regulations surrounding the permission to dump infill on this land.
There hasn't been any hint of speculation locally regarding drugs of any kind.
