The Homeland Security Department has lost track of more than 1 million people who it knows arrived in the U.S. but who it cannot prove left the country, according to an audit Tuesday that also found the department probably won’t meet its own goals for deploying an entry-exit system.

The findings were revealed as Congress debates an immigration bill, and the Government Accountability Office’s report could throw up another hurdle because lawmakers in the House and Senate have said that any final deal must include a workable system to track entries and exits and cut down on so-called visa overstays.

Lost DHS Style

Woo hoo

I just love government looking out for me, protecting me from all the baddies, and them 'terrorists', and them 'Illegal aliens', and such.

From the same people who 'lost' Tsarnev no less

The current administration with it's lackadaisical approach to domestic and foreign issues, and it's GESTAPO DHS that is suppose to be DOING IT"S JOB.

How the hell can they lose 1 million people?

Hell they don't lose 1 million emails.
Hell they don't lose 1 million texts

Hell DHS how about you act like the NSA for once they never lose stuff.

Government incompetence I first thought, but I think this is willful, wanting turn the head so they can whip out some other stupidity down the pipe.

I report you decide.

Department of Homeland Insecurity strikes again maybe or there is a method to their madness.

Agreed...more than likely this news is a precursor to another move that will allow the current administration to take action.

If Hillary wins in 2016, be prepared to bend over - without lube...

Well they HAD to lose them. Wouldn't want to take a chance of them being deported before legislation gets passed to give them legal status- they could lose a million member bloc of potential registered DNC voters! Intolerable!

"Lost track" or simply ignored?

I think it's more of the latter.

Star and flagger.
