The problem with the case of Sodom and Gomorrah is that many smart people try to go around the issue by claiming that since those cities were so much old, in other words, belong to a time from which there are no many historic accounts well preserved, well that they might be a myth.

However, I have shown in some of my replies in this thread that actually there have been a lot of very interesting archaeological findings that, during the last 40 years, showed that there were indeed 5 cities in that shore of the dead sea, and the ruins clearly contain residuals of ashes, and burnt materials of a typical volcanic event.

The interesting point here is that this incident is not isolated in History, there is at least other one that correspond to two other cities, this time in Italy, that were completely devastated by one of the most powerful volcanic events that History every recorded: Pompeii and Herculaneum,

This is quite relevant for the discussion that we have here since the two cities had a well deserved fame to have been among the most corrupt and sinful of the Roman Empire. What makes this case important is that this time we have an extremely well conserved evidence of either what was the life in the two cities before the eruption and also how they fatally ended.

For incredible that it seems, the volcanic ashes in Pompeii and Herculaneum were determinant to assure the preservation of great part of the architecture, art works, and elements of the domestic life that otherwise might not be even available in our time for study.

Once more the History is repeated, and two very sinful cities became destroyed by the fury of an event that by coincidence , or somebody might say perhaps by the will of God, ended with that style of life in just a matter of few hours.

Something is sure, no serious Historian would risk his reputation by daring to say that Pompeii and Herculaneum were Mythic cities, there is too much material evidence of their existence and their evilness.

Ha! Yes because sex is so wrong we should just kill everyone who does. That makes sense. From the murals it looks more to me like they were a fairly open and free society, not some raunchy place that vagrants and scum of the earth lived. Show me a town where people that are considered scum are painting murals and trying to make things that are beautiful art. There aren't any. I believe there are numerous misconceptions of the biblical stories and to think that God made a volcano rain down on these cities is ridiculous....it is called nature. These were not the only towns to have had a very sexual nature to their existence...the destruction of their cities was viewed as an act of God, just as many other religions viewed a thunderstorm or someone dying in general as an act of a God they worshiped.

Your excuses are getting old. While your conviction is admirable, you could do much greater things should you actually turn your interests to something that is real....not a book based on folklore of numerous civilizations in the past.

Healthy Sex or sane erotic love is not wrong, what is wrong is the promiscuity, also called fornication, the adultery, sexual orgies, also the spread of aberrations like sodomy in its two different forms, when people start to use the digestive system for copulation, as well as also the pedophilia epidemic we have today in the world, a terrible sin and social drama that does not respect the children , in which pornography is directly linked as a propaganda vector.

There is something a lot of people don't understand in this time, the human beings are not designed to copulate with more than one partner, and to remain healthy, sex in general and intercourse in particular, must be a practice among stable couples.

Anybody that is sending propaganda or pornographic materials through the internet to spread practices that contribute to the degradation of the moral and the public health is responsible of the destruction of the society, that the human life become a merchandise, persons reduced to be just objects of pleasure that are traded, that is a horrendous panoramic. If this is not stopped we are going to have at future the Hook up civilization in which also the family is in danger to disappear, because no body is going to have loyalty or fidelity to nobody.

This is not just to publish nude figures, Not at all even the Sistine Chapel has them, God is not against Sex or nudity, after all Genesis is clear that God became angry when he found that Adam and Eve told him that they were nude, He asked them who told them that? He never has been against to reproduce artistically models of beauty, that is not the problem, is not to be against the representation of ideals of health or aesthetics or love, He is against to use images to promote degrading and vicious behavior, to corrupt the minds of young people and contribute to their alienation.

Thanks anyway for your comments, but to be honest some of the murals of Pompeii are really not Artistic erotic painting, are definitively perverse, reveal a corrupt way of intimacy taking place in that city before the disaster arrive, there is even phallic cult on them.
