I saw something like this in the TV show Continuum and would be interested to hear what gaming/entertainment or medical applications it has. It is definitely an invasion of privacy (just like PRISM) and I bet this kind of thing is already in place and we don't know about it (just like PRISM was) and uses radio frequencies not just typical internet wifi which cover the entire globe. The need for 2 transmitters and a receiver makes me wonder about the real purpose of SOHO 1 & 2 not to mention all the other satellites around Earth.

Sounds like what those pulse rifle guns in that old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Eraser could do.
