OK this day is just weird

Hi guys

7:30 A.M.
When I got to work this morning my apprentice broke down in tears telling me sorry for not coming in (I'm quite strict about time keeping) but his brother has been diagnosed with leukaemia

OK we'll deal with that over the coming months, he knows his job is safe and seems reasonably perky knowing we are all 100% there for him.

9:00 A.M.
A colleague cuts off half a finger, cue Cody company medic, Ice ......... check...........container.........check.......sterile bandage to wrap around finger and now loose appendage......check
Ambulance ................. check

10:15
Tea break I go onto ATS of course and facebook to catch up with what my kids are doing
I'm faced with this



That's my ex wife in hospital after being bitten by a poisonous snake in Israel, not only that but she is in the news being interviewed about it

The highlights translated

"It was 4:30 AM when a snake got onto my leg,I awoke and grabbed it, it bit my hand, I didn't realise at first it was snake but when I saw my finger and the signs,and the blood I realised it was a snake."

Then my daughter speaks
"Mum came into my room gave me the phone and asked me to call the paramedic, I was in shock I didn't know had happened, I got up saw the snake bites called him to come, she tried to reassure us that all will be OK, and that I should arrange everything (at home)"

"Within 25 minutes I could hardly breathe, I knew I had to get to hospital as fast as possible so they could treat me"

Then she talks to the doctor

"I bet I'm not the first case this summer huh"

The doctor goes on to explain that she arrived in a "difficult situation" with low blood pressure and breathing difficulties, not knowing which snake had bitten her they made a judgement based on amongst other things geographical location and gave her serum for a viper.

Of course I just explained to my boss that I have to run and check all is well with the kids and whether or not I should book a flight to be there for support or not

It is now 13:12
The calls have been made and everything is sorted out, the kids are fine and the ex will live

I need a drink \_/

For those of you interested the snake is in shock from meeting the ex but should pull through

Much as we despise each other after a bitter bitter bitter divorce I loved her once, the important thing is the kids are fine and the ex will live.

I'm massively grateful to not be on a plane on the way to a funeral and 2 inconsolable kids

But damn I'm proud of them all

friday was like that for me in the morning my mother told me she had a tumor the size of a water mellon and it just got better and better after that as you can tell from my avatar i like a smoke and on the way to the boozer got a random search ???? long story short got very drunk for first time in a long time lost house keys happy thoughts bud happy thoughts
