There is nothing in this World that brings tears to my eyes more than a soulful, true and honest female voice. Etta James does it for me every time.

And now...This Woman...Alice Fredenham makes me tear up every time I watch this vid. I'm waiting for the release.

Its so good to see young people with amazing talent, and a serious preference for some of the older styles of music. This girl is superb, so thank you for sharing it with us today.

In Oz we had a young girl (19) last year who won the Voice competition with her untrained Raw and Emotional vocals. While Karise Eden is not performing the same style of music as Alice Fredenham, she also sings the oldies and brings tears to many eyes.

Oh my goodness. I am soo soo glad I clicked on your thread. I haven't even listened to the whole song and I am tearing up..what an absolute amazing voice. She is a beauty, gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Thanks for putting the Karise videos up Jude, and I am so glad you are getting the desired effect. I cry like a baby with tears of Joy when I experience Karise's live performances.

She started doing a tour of Cathedrals in Oz, which were said to have been simply amazing nights, but she caught the flu from some fans and the remaining venues were cancelled. So those of us in the Sunny north missed out, although there are some you tube videos we use to console ourselves with.

At the moment Universal have Karise on a contract, but what they intend to do with her is anyone's guess. They have shown no interest in touring, no advertising for her, and she has been in and out of the studio now for months working on a new album of her own songs.

Leonard Cohen said Karise's version of Halleluja was the best he had heard. I tend to agree, but also love her live rendition of Stay with me Baby,

Thanks again for showing us Alice Fredenham, I will be keeping an eye on her career. Such a lovely human being.

Thank you Jude for posting this. I grew up in a home where jazz was appreciated and I too have a love for that time period. Can't forget about Lady Day either, she's another one that will bring a tear or two to your eyes. It's that raw emotion that these artists choose to share with us that moves in our own emotions. SnF
