How do you know he was running away? How do you know his girl friend is telling the truth and not covering for him? How do you know anything about any of this? Answer ... none of us do. That's why we have to wait for the trial and the information to come out. (and we have to hope that the judge doesn't suppress any information and that the jury doesn't feel intimidated to come up with one verdict over another, etc etc)

What seems more likely - that Trayvon was genuinely trying to avoid Zimmerman's attention and just wanted to get back to his father's house without George seeing him go there, or that while walking back from the store and talking to his g/f, he decided to try and impress her by beating the crap out of a total stranger who had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time?

No one knows who was yelling. The FBI said they can't tell.

You say that while sitting at your computer. But in real life different people react in different ways. If I felt my life was threatened by someone bashing my head in the cement and I had a gun on me ... I'd use it without hesitation. I'd use it even if I didn't think my life was threatened but there was a risk of severe injury. And bashing someones head in does cause severe injury.

Thats why I say that we have to wait for the information to come out at the trial.
A lot of what is in the press is BULL. It's been tainted and 'selectively edited'
and misrepresented. There is a lot of contamination that has been put out in
an effort to steer the public into thinking one thing or another ....

We will find out at the trial.

Unless the judge suppresses evidence ....

And then that will be a whole slew more ATS threads discussing that conspiracy ...

I was asking if you didn't find it a little odd that only George's plaintive appeals for help could be heard on the 911 call, and that there was no vocal emphasisation of the beatdown he was supposedly carrying out heard whatsoever? You've kind of suggested that Trayvon was doing all this for DeeDee to hear, so why wasn't he making a bigger show of it, knowing his phone was still on despite being on the floor somewhere?

No offense, but that may be BS depending on other factors. I dare say you have not been in many scrapes to make a blanket statement like that.

Your comments indicate an extreme bias and looking for anything that will support your rationalization of the events. Events which you cannot claim any specific inside knowledge of. The fact is we just do not know exactly how things went down. We do not know for a fact who was the aggressor. We do not know if Zimmerman was in mortal danger (or felt he was) or whether he was initiating actions which caused Trevon to react defensively prompting the shooting.

I understand having an opinion about how you felt it went down, but presenting opinion as fact is disingenuous.

My dislike of Sharpton is not because I don't support the issues he allegedly stands for, it is precisely because I do support these issues and am a big believer in the role of diversity and inclusion in bringing together the global patchwork that makes up the United States population. The truth will come out that Martin ASSAULTED Zimmerman and Zimmerman "fearing for his life", defended himself. Let's not forget Martin was 17 years old 5'11" tall and 158 pounds. Martin was NOT some skinny little kid,
he was the size of a grown man. Zimmerman is 5'8" and weighs 170 pounds. Do you think that Zimmerman thought Martin was a 17 year old kid? Think Zimmerman just wanted to jump on someone bigger that he was because maybe he just wanted to get into a fight??? Well, we will soon find out, maybe. Given the DA wants Zimmerman to go to jail to pacify to Blacks in Florida, it's going to be a pretty good trail. All that the DA is trying to do to keep Martin's records from being use as evidence in the trail is going to exposed and EVERYONE will learn what type of person Martin really was.
