So...with all your heart DESIRE Heaven, PRAY, ask God for the grace to believe, for His grace to get to Heaven. REPENT and be baptized says Peter. Be loving in the present moment (no matter the circumstance), this is how you do God's Will. Take Mary's hand, she will help you, simply ask her in prayer. Regular heartfelt confession of your mortal (serious) sins to God. Catholics go to Confession. Pray every day from now on, alright?

The thought of the "Cleveland horror" is a reminder of what Hell is... Above, are one sentence helps on how to avoid Hell and I share a powerful speech (homily) on Hell. Add links, testimonies if you like, the most important subject of this life is our eternal destination. We choose it, not God.

"Hell Exists and We Might Go There!"

The following is a speech given by Father Marcel Nault to the World
Catholic Bishops Fatima Peace Conference in Fatima, Portugal in 1992.
This speech made such an impact that after this Conference, several
Bishops asked Father Nault to hear their confessions.

Some people want to go to hell. It is the place most appealing to them. They are most comfortable with the idea of hell and all it stands for. You see sufferring where they see its justification through pride and their enjoyment of what you might call, "evil".

I see no point in begging someone to adapt your point of view. The only response I believe youll get from someone on that path is either mockery or an endless justification of their beliefs. I dont think this approach you have taken is going to be very effective.

Instead of spouting bible verses that so called "non believers" have already heard a thousand times before and have already determined in their minds to be irrevocably false, maybe it would do us all a better service for you to break the verses down and support them with verifiable facts, or at least logical connections and conceptual interrelationships of the verses to known truths.

Perhaps you could put yourself in an atheists shoes and approach your beliefs from a scientific viewpoint. That would be the compassionate approach anyway.

The people in hell are there because they want to be. They hate God. If the gates of hell were thrown wide open for them to leave .. and they were to be escorted into heaven with trumpets blasting and all the glory for all eternity .. they'd hate it. Those in Hell want to be there.

I like your reply and advise. I do not care for the overused word "spouting", perhaps a positive word. You are so right though about the return of mockery and justification for their disbelief.

I am Catholic, there is more than the Bible Alone to prove the truth of God's revelation.

When you share Science isn't always correct but God is, atheists ignore. And I have shared, one of two most recent scientific studies. This Italian study of the Shroud of Turin shows man cannot yet create the UV rays it took to make the marks that appear on the Shroud. And this was 2000 years ago.

God bless you smithj,

taken the sermon above ~

The Saints Feared Hell
Here is something very curious, saints are afraid to go into Hell but
sinners are not afraid. Saint Francis de Sales, Saint Alphonsus Liguori,
Saint cure of Ars, St. Therese of Avila, St. Therese of the Infant Jesus
were all afraid to go to Hell.

Saints are afraid to go to hell.

Fear is the greatest tool to control people.

Cowards bow down and become submissive doing whatever they are told.

FREE people do not have fear, therefore they are FREE to be themselves.

How did humanity get to the point where they will pray away their freedom to another spirit/entity?

How did humanity get to the point where they believe that the sacrifice of freedom is natural?

It's just so sad to see, to be honest.

God wants your love just as He loves you, He loved you first, He created you apgme.

"Free people: have the choice (free will), to choose to do what is good or to follow evil, never repent of their
evil.

Saints believe Hell exists. And they know full well, it is we who choose it or desire Heaven. Those precious three ladies in Cleveland saw the outside, maybe some sunlight, twice in almost 10 years! Those in Hell will never see light.

Sometimes people will do things for others without expecting anything in return. This is pure love - selfless love - the joy comes from helping the other without focus on "self". This type of self-less love is unknown to God? Loving without doing so just to get something in return?

"Hey, I only love you if you love me otherwise I will just stop loving you and throw you into torment!"

That is not true love because that is not unconditional love.

apgme,

Yes, "selfless love" that is God, He had no need of making you or me but He did. God is the source of all goodness and love. Our fallen nature, we need the help of God, His grace to be good. Desire Heaven and God will help you get there. Ask His help in prayer.

When I was younger. I wanted to be close to God and I prayed that my free-will be taken away because I was taught that God is All-Power, All-Knowing, and Unconditional Love itself, so I knew that by praying my free-will away I would be in good hands.

I still have trouble with selfishness sometimes, I will admit.

If I see someone suffering, no doubt, I will help them; but on my alone time by myself I just like to be selfish and do whatever I want - but sometimes with my own free time I spend it learning or helping people by sharing the things I've learned.

Don't know if that prayer about giving up my free-will when I was younger worked or not, but I do prefer to live in a world of Compassion rather than a world where we do not care about each other and cause suffering to others and ourselves...

I love your story, it is honest and very sweet. Yeah, it is hard to give our will to God, to do His Will. Think of
it this way and you won't believe it a loss of your will. Just from what you have shared, this may help.

I like this definition of doing God's Will. "You do God's Will by being love in the present moment no matter
the circumstance."

I share Protestant private revelation (prophecy) too. Wow, read this vision non-Catholic Christian Doug
Addison had about Cleveland. An excerpt from his writing.

Miracle in Cleveland

On Monday, May 6th I was traveling and God spoke to me
that if I would pray during the layovers in the cities I
passed through, He would do something in those areas. One
of my layovers was in Cleveland, Ohio. While at the
Cleveland airport, God showed me that a spirit of control
was being taken out in Cleveland and that He will release
something new in Ohio that would ultimately affect the
east coast. So I prayed for “release of those [held]
captive by control.”

On the following day I told the group at my speaking
event in Pennsylvania that something new was going to
happen in Cleveland.

I had an angelic encounter in my hotel room at 5 am that
Wednesday and the Holy Spirit told to me to turn on the
news, as He wanted to show me something. To my surprise,
three women who had been held captive for nine years in
Cleveland broke free the day after I prayed there.

When I updated the group on what took place, my cellphone
rang and the caller ID came up as “Cleveland.” God spoke
to me: “I am calling Cleveland to something new right
now.” Watch for something new to happen in San Francisco
as I had a layover in that city and I prayed there as
well. I am full of faith and fully expect to see
something new in San Francisco too.

Really? You really buy into this nonsensical story? Look I will put it to you straight this is BS. First off you want us to believe that this man's prayers were somehow more special than the hundreds of people that live in the city? That he is such an exceptional person that merely his passing through the airport was what made God move to release these young women when again hundreds of people held vigil after vigil for their return? Just what makes him so special, and please explain to me why he couldn't have been called up to spread his specialness sooner than 10 years after they were abducted. You are pretty much one of the most disgusting twisted people I have ever had the misfortune of running across.

Hi Keli, thanks for replying,

I believe the messenger is Protestant. God gave him a message to get out. He isn't special, God loves us all equally.

God chooses who He wants to speak through. In Catholicism, we see in history, God chose a poor girl who lived in the dump (Bernadette of Lourdes). God speaks to every generation.

God gave him nothing, he used a tragedy to attempt to gain political sway over less intelligent people. It is that simple.

Edited to add: I live in Cleveland a mere 10 minutes from where this happened. It has been a literal non-stop search for these young women since they disappeared. I find it extremely offensive for anyone and I mean this man, the pope flat out anyone to come out and say the things has said. I find it even more offensive to even consider that God let these women get brutalized for a decade so he could elevate this "chosen" mouth piece to speak to anyone about it.

One more addition. In this little story of his I find it amazing that he doesn't even seem to know basic facts. Like they didn't break free the day after he prayed here. He says he prayed on the 6th and broke out the 7th. However the young girls were in fact rescued on the 6th at around 6PM. By his own statement he didn't receive the "angelic voice" telling him to turn on the TV until 5 AM on the 8th. Which makes even less sense because by the morning of the 7th this was a national story and being covered by every major network and newspaper.
