Bob Brozman, a guitarist and self-described “roving guitar anthropologist” who collaborated with musicians from Northern Ireland to Guinea to
India to Papua New Guinea, died on April 23 at his home in Santa Cruz, Calif. He was 59.
The story goes on to say that Mr. Brozman's death was a suicide.
Mr. Brozman was an example of the very best that America has to offer the world. Despite claiming in the following video that he was "not a very good
guitarist", by my standards and by most people's standards (other than his own), he was a virtuoso of the National steel guitar and was much
more besides.
Here is an interview/workshop that he gave that gives the flavour of the man and his music. Musician and non-musician alike can learn a lot from this
kind of person. He showed America's best face to the world, and he meant it.

Never heard of him but his talk about rhythm and syncopation is great! I'm a drummer and I found it pretty instructive.
Interesting man, I'll have to find more of his music.
