Look for and hold down the "fn" key on your keyboard and at the top of your keyboard look for a key that has either a keyboard or a lock symbol on it, then press it while holding the "fn" key.
That should unlock your keyboard.

I was taking a practice exam for comp TIA a few weeks back and one of the questions was exactly what you are describing. I cant quite remember what the answer was now

I would be massively helpful if you had mentioned what operation system you are running. There is an onscreen keyboard you can use but as you didnt say what operating system you have i cant tell you how to access it.

Have you tried removing the battery for a few mins?

If you have windows you could have turned on stickly keys. Just click shift 5 times in a row and it should turn it off.
