Yay!!!
She just flew in from Zurich to Boston....(she was in Germany as a Materials Science Engineer, promoting her science at a world-class conference on alternative energy fuel cells......)
where she lives now.
I'm SO SAD about what happened there... my heart goes out to the Bostonians.

And we are so blessed/lucky that she was out of the country at the time...but now is back home safe and sound.

Just wanted to share.....in case anyone cares.
'nite, guys.

I care. I am as ecstatic as you are at the moment. It is all disco and shockingly exciting rainbows for me now.

My moment is over thanks for allowing me to share.

I watched the 'flightwatch' thing the whole time she was in the air....

it's so nerve-wracking to know your kid is in such a vulnerable position!!!

Thanks for the disco vid...
I'M SMILING BIG-TIME NOW!
Might even dance!!!!

I'm glad she's home safe and sound.

I'd have been a nervous wreck, considering all the recent mayhem.

Blessings,
Cirque

Thanks, Cirque!!! Yeah, nervous wreck is right.
I was worried enough about her touring alone.....but when I saw her flight path on flightaware had headed due south and lost altitude heading for the Mediterranean...I was like, "WHAT!??"

Even called my mom and said "Oh God I'm freaking out!""

Anyway, she just called me, and sounds SO TIRED (understandably), but her boyfriend (and colleague) is there to get her.

Thanks, you guys!!

Much love.

Glad she is home safe.

Even happier for you that she was gone when she was.

After the conference she sent her professional wardrobe back home with her bosses, and went banging around backpacking as a tourist.

Wow.
The thing about parenting - you start to worry when they're growing inside of you....and wonder if it will ever stop.

(I recall Lamaze class and asking 'I'm worried about my child...will that feeling go away?" and the teacher said, quite sincerely and seriously, "No. It won't. It never goes away." Truer words were never spoken).

Hurray! People think when you have kids the worrying stops when they reach adulthood, but little do they realize that's really when it begins in earnest! Glad she made it home safe and sound and that fortunately she missed all of the excitement!

She's the COOLEST of cats, definity!!!
Thanks for your posts related to that.
She's an amazement, a real 'piece of work', to both her dad and me, and everyone who knows her!

Okay, you guys know how it goes...you're all wound up, and then the resolution is known, and then you can say, "Oh Lord I need to sleep."

I might stay logged on, but I'm ready for bed.
Appreciate everyone's support, more than you will ever know.

I know, right!!??
I remember when they (she and her little brother) were 5 and 3, and a wise granmother-lady said to me, "be glad you know where they are now, dear...in another few years you'll wish you did."

Truer words were never ever spoken...

no, it NEVER ENDS!!

It never ends. The pain and angst of your kids is like a knife in the heart.
God love ya, littled!!

Ya know how 'weird' it really gets? She just moved to Boston for her brand-new pro job in August.
Then came Sandy --- but she happened to be out of the worst impact area.
Then came the Blizzard -- again, she was in Vermont skiing....the storm seemed to follow the state boundary between NH and VT.

Then, this...and again, she was well out of danger's way.
I don't know what to make of it except that I need to give her guardian angels a raise!

Really, though.

What's the world coming to??

Thanks.
It was just so 'lucky'...
or
was it????

Anyway, thanks so much!!!
She's a jewel, and I'm honored and humbled to be her mom. Her dad and I are both unceasingly awed by her 'chutzpah'.
(Probably spelled that wrong)....

Makes you long for the days when you could say "No you can't go- because I said so!" and they would stomp off pouting to their rooms where you knew they were safe and sound! My youngest got a job that has her traveling all over the country right now, and soon to be traveling the world so I feel ya' wildtimes!

I think I'll leave out a little something extra for the guardian angels as well, come to think of it!
