Sri Lanka Air Force Was on High Alert Over Mass UFO Sightings!

In Dec 2012, the Sri Lanka Air Force stated that it was keeping a twenty four hour vigil after unidentified craft were witnessed in the skies over several parts of the country.

Meanwhile, unidentified lights hovering in the skies above Sri Lanka were witnessed by hundreds of people over several parts of the country, during that period. Unidentified lights ware also captured on mobile phones in the eastern skies above Ambalanthota and Ihalayagoda in Gampaha, Sri Lanka.

According to this source, there were no unidentified craft on radar,

a professor in astronomy at the Colombo University, Chandana Jayaratne had reportedly dismissed such claims by pointing out that lights seen by people emanated from Mars as a result of it orbiting closer to the earth.

Just misidentified normal phenomena.

isnt that the same month (Dec2012) asteroid/comet was observed,

and 'red rain' containing et diatoms was collected & identified?

yep if if it ain't moving, and it's flashing different colors, it's likely venus or mars, stars are also known to do this.

Most 'UFOs' cannot be picked up on radar. Check out the sightings near US air bases where UFOs were sighted visually but could not be tracked by radar.

So those images are of Mars? That so called professor is out of his mind! Mars, he says!!! Jeeez!

It's amazing how such scatterbrains who claim to be professors, jump to conclusions without analyzing in detail the footage shown! Is he an expert in analyzing aerial phenomenon?

It's more likely a Chinese lantern or an illuminated balloon, but certainly not Mars as that 'professor' contends!!

You can't really make any observations off a zoomed in pixelated phone video. It would be distorted like sht.

Does that look like Mars? Yes, if it was filmed with an incredibly underpowered camera like a cell phone. Notice how it looks like every other planet or star once there's a better focused zoom?

DaTroof and cybersk8er are correct , it is a celestial object most likely a Star , it was also posted in December last year .

It doesn't, but it doesn't mean it's not.

Excessive digital zoom of an out of focus light in a dark sky does that, it's even relatively easy to identify the camera's maker by the way it distorts the image.

This one, for example, it's similar to what I have seen from Sony cameras, although not as "square".
