How would you like it if it was ok for a black to marry a white but you couldn't call it marriage because it is an inter racial thing. Perhaps God hates that. Maybe it gives him the heebie geebies just thinking about it. Ok so this black and this white have this thing which is now legally called the Interracial Union. Ok so the government doesn't recognize any legal rights under the law. These two people cannot file a joint income tax return. They cannot get their partners social security death benefits. If one of them is serving their country and gets killed in war, the survivor cannot claim the body or even escort the body home. They are not considered next of kin to each other because hey they aren't "married". So since they feel screwed by society they go have a few drinks and then drive home. They cant smoke a cigarette in the bar though because its bad for everyones health. Oh wait.....the state they live in just legalized marriage for these two sickos but they still can file a joint income tax return or anything because its only on a state level, not federal.

Note: My life partner and I just want equal rights under the law. Keep your religious views to yourself and let God judge us. ~ peace.

Love is eternal and knows no bounds or limits. Only a loveless man sets limits on love. A loving man never will. We can all love an infinite number of other souls, either man or animal, it matters not to us.

Live long and love hard.

Your troubles are painful to you as they are to me.

With all due respect, I'm in agreement ... but, I'm wondering why this couldn't have just gone in THIS THREAD that's already established and going on regarding the same subject.

Because Dru, I wanted to make a point that is isn't really about Gay "marriage". Its about equality under the federal law. Forgive me if I placed this thread all on its own.

Whilst watching the news tonight I was struck by the irony of a black guy in a crowd holding a placard against gay marriage.

It's amazing what short memories some people have. Think 1968.

What ever happened to "All men are created equal".
