We’ll see better tomorrow but it looks (now) like her whole top either caved (?) and/or her topography has changed drastically.

It sounds like it's starting to flare up for a while. Nice pictures. Hopefully you don't get hurt.

It's like her whole top has blown off. It's hard to say for sure with all the shadows and snow creating strange configurations in the dark - but it sure is one of the more dramatic eruptions even if nothing has changed. I'm betting something has though!

And yes, it's still going on...

This is one of the most, if not the most spectacular eruption I've seen to date.
The picture does it NO justice. My God, it looks like we've lost the whole top of the mountain...

The ash is hitting now...

Beautiful pics, as always. I'm quite jealous of your view!

Stay safe!

This is looking pretty major now.
I asked for a title change to the thread.

Getting hit with ash and the explosions are enough to knock me off my feet when taking pics.

And yeah, the pics are gonna get even more blurry. My hands are shaking.

She’s not slowing down - but I am.
It’s going on 0400... I have to try to get at least one hour sleep though I have no idea how I will.
Keep and eye on the ETNACAM -

I'll be back later - unless she escalates - then I'll be back sooner, lol.

Here’s the last pic from early morning.

A few hours sleep later?
She’s still at it - still the percussion loud and clear, lava, but thankfully - sans ash.
She’s showing no signs of calming down - other than the lack of ash - so who knows how long this will continue. It’s already been one of her longest and strongest eruptions in a very long time.

More later, eyes open and Good Sunday to you all,

peace

What are the Italian geologists and experts saying about this current eruption level etc?

May God be with you in all your volcano surfing! LOL.

Silo how close are you.... Is all the fallout like that, larger, no small fine ash. Particulates small enough to breathe would be very dangerous for you. Are there many that live close and have to evacuate.

I prayed for your safety and your animals, would like to see more pics.

Each time i view the RT video, it makes me somehow wonder - and never mind the 'Big Bang Theory'- if such an eruption of a more gigantic Volcano, gave birth to our universe. A Star fir simply showing such a videom Thank You.

ABSOLUTELY INDEED SILO,

What sort of mask do you have?

Would be willing to send you better, if you need it.

The animals might need inside a building--if such is available. Sigh.

I lived through the Mt St Helens in SPOKANE. We had to stay in doors for several days and not move our vehicles.

The hospital masks are better than the little cup type that don't fit real tightly. Sigh.

Respirator type masks would be better, of course.

Please be safe!
