This thread proves just how effective the inculcation process has been and how deep the conditioning resides. Anyone that cherishes freedom among these zombies does indeed have their work cut out for them. They are the true enemy within as they are clearly willing to become collaborating boot lickers. The only real hope that I see is secession, peaceful secession. We need our Tankman moment to launch from there. Still, it is a longshot but one that must be taken.

You keep saying big words like freedom, but you aren't really losing your freedoms. You're losing arguments and can't stand it. You're a bunch of babies who aren't getting their way.

This country is moving on without you. We're going to have healthcare for everyone. We're going to help those in need. Crazy people will have to go through some background checks before picking up an assault rifle at walmart. Women will be able to choose to have an abortion. We're going to try to keep the environment clean. And I'll be proud of that nation.

Keep crying, I dare you try to do something.

And another thing. You guys love to act like things were so great in the past. Maybe you should do some more research into how things really were. It wasn't some utopia. You act like their was actually freedom in the late 1700s and early 1800s. We had slaves! Those people weren't free. We didn't need regulations on corporations because they didn't exist! There were like a million people total in the entirety of the US. These are different times. Trying to go back to a time and place that never existed save in your minds isn't where this country is going.

things aren't great now. And they could be better. But your melodramatic BS needs to stop.

Uh, does anyone realize we're not firing a bunch of muskets and canons anymore? This is getting rather out of hand, especially if people think the GOP can save 'Murica and all such things.

To much talking and not enough lynching. Seriously. As we talk, they laugh.

Oh and BTW. When 4 of the top 5 posters are MANNERS AND DECORUMED up the wing wang, I think its time to find other places to speak. This place really is not all that hot. Or hip.

I really don't understand America.

You had a president (bush) that started all these wars, put the country into massive debt, and deregulated the banking system so it collapsed. Then you blame the guy who was left with the mess for all the problems?

And now you want to overthrow the government because they want to ban assault rifles?

And the tea party? don't they believe the earth is only 6000 years old? You want them to take over?

Honestly, all these republican vs democract is a bunch of nonsense. Hating on someone because he isn't on the same team as you are is ridiculous.

The republicans and democractes policies are all that different, all this division is a lie.

Oh yea health care for everyone huh. Well why was my grandmother declined because there are younger people that need health care more. Read the whole bill before tootin your horn. It states they can refuse you health care for any reason..... Yea any reason pick one! And all this means is more modern medicine to kill you quicker. Why do they use mercury in anything to be orally consumed? to have more people like you jump in line for the next set of shots. Just like everything else it's all about the money!!

That was a very naive & innocent time, lonewolf. The South was far too honorable for their enemy & it cost us nearly everything but our faith & our self respect. We are much wiser & have a far better understanding of the nature of our enemy (hindsight & experience) now.

There is no reason- especially considering the professed "enlightenment" & "evolved" nature of the left, that a peaceful & mutually beneficial separation cannot be worked out. The only problem is that they need our initiative & work ethic to fund their utopian projects & our participation to reassure/ validate their self doubts. Once they understand that they can have neither- & that once the government collapses under it's own weight, we will be free anyway- maybe we can get somewhere.

You know what, I wish you'd do it. Go ahead, start shooting. I'd love to see the immense b*tchslap you "revolutionaries" would get from the military.

Now that that's out of the way: do I agree that you've got some good points? Definitely. The US system is imploding in slow motion. Your beloved concepts of liberty are being reduced more and more (hell, I feel more free in Canada than I ever would in the US), the divide between the rich and the poor is growing, and society isn't adapting at anywhere near a fast enough pace. The bare fact of the matter is that the economic model that the American politicians are trying to push is completely unsustainable today. In the '50s, a manufacturing-based economy worked fine, because we didn't have the technology to render human labour obsolete. But we're coming to the point now where we can and will.

So what do you do when the jobs literally run out? My personal feeling is this: mankind is about to undergo a radical change in society. The whole idea of having to work to survive is going away fast. We're entering what amounts to a post-scarcity society in which you simply can't justify not providing at least the bare essentials of life to everyone. But as long as the "elite," the buisness moguls control the system, they won't let that happen.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that we as a species have been staving off the effects of technological advancement for a very long time, and it's going to come to a head very soon.

Seconded and well said.

That is really all it is, they are losing and they can't handle it. If they can't win elections...they will just try to ignore the laws of the land.

Thanks for posting this OP. Personally I am all for decentralization however I do not think it is a reality. Any state that does muster the courage to defy the federal government over anything substantial will be made an example of and demonized through state media (the only media left).

The problem is 3 fold. Those 3 folds are the 3 branches of Govt and they have all been compromised. The judicial will essentially support anything the federal govt wants. When was the last time a president overturned the decisions/policies of a former president much less the judicial. I am not talking about taxes either. Any legislative attempts to change things are going to fail because they wont get enough attention due to the controlled media and the manufactured apathy of a generation of infantile brats. Funding is just one reason this wont work. The era of mass protest (of substance not the manufactured and co-opted tea-party/occupy groups) is over.

My pessimism though does not exclude an eventual movement by real patriots but the controlled paradigm of the current 2 party system will marginalize them and make them look like cooks as has been done for at least the last 10 years or so. Eventually bloodshed may ensue but the problem is that people on here think that when "it" starts its going to just be on the news for everyone to view and participate in and this is just wrong. The news will give you an edited view based on the outcome they are ordered to produce primarily that of making patriots into some type of anachronistic terrorist or bible thumping Luddites or something.

No unfortunately like a drug addict the country will have to hit rock bottom before anything happens and by that time people will be too poor in resources to mount any legitimate opposition and who is to say that any reformed government would be any better. The way I see it too many people have been conditioned to believe that "Old" is bad and "New" is good and will jump on the bandwagon of anyone who comes along to fill the power vacuum with empty promises of prosperity. The time for action has come and gone now what is left is reaction and we are one step behind. and TPTB are counting on it.

I wonder if this is how the people sounded leading up to the last days of the Roman Empire?

I think that we are waaaaaay beyond the ability to fix anything....my plan is to survive whatever is coming. Be prepared is our best option.

The house is on fire. It's going to burn to the ground, we need to get the heck out because no amount of water is going to put it out.

OP, you are right. Our Framers purposely wrote the Constitution with the States sovereignty in mind. If the Federal govt doesn't agree, too bad...I would rather live in a free, sovereign State, than a Federal Socialist Union.

Historically speaking I have to say revolution successfully done really does trump impeachment.....just saying. Certainly though it is a last resort, and one I hope I never have to see.

Oh puhleeze. A minority of uneducated, gun toting nitwits isn't going to pull off anything. One tank and one drone and it's over.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Even the GOP knows Conservatism is dead. It's why they have been contemplating rigging the Presidential elections. This year, whltes will be a minority in CA. It will soon be that way in the rest of the U.S. The reign of the old, white ignorant male is over.

And if for one second these survivalist twits don't think the FBI has them right where they want them ...

I think the difference between here and the Roman empire is that the Romans did not actively plan for their empire to fall where as in Americas case it is by design. The Romans did not have a massive global media network either or the tech to enforce their will completely. America is falling by design for an intended purpose. The architects of this design have spent combined lifetimes studying the mechanisms of control in past societies as well as the development of future tools for oppression. Whatever is on the horizon has no equal in history.

Two words: Patriot Act

We wouldn't have the NDAA if Bush hadn't supported it. Each side takes turn, bootstrapping and building on the legislation passed before them. The pendulum swings back and forth, and both sides take certain freedoms away.

This isn't a liberal/conservative issue. This isn't a Democrat/Republican issue. Hell, they're all friends behind closed doors, they all sit at the bar together and have drinks. They just want us to be divided, and they play on America's love for team sports.

That's really what Democrats and Republicans are -- political sports teams.

Yes, Bob Redford explained this point when he was doing his 'coming out' parade. He was on a roll saying it's time people start to get to know the real Bob, who was always reclusive, and it's now time to get to know about him, and he was revealing how his mind was utterly and completely blown when he was invited to some pol functions, and all the little heavies, behind closed doors, from 'both sides' weren't snarling and hissing at each other. That, in fact they were all buds!!! I believe the words came from a Playboy interview.

In other news, the middle class is deliberately being squeezed out. Bob would agree, I just know he would.

IMAGINE THAT! Can you BELIEVE IT! OH MY GOD IT'S TIME TO LEARN FROM BOB! *snort* Bob's no TOOL who got by with his rugged looks and made millions playing parts in movies that were rubbing it in our faces! Bob is still great looking and can see through a smokescreen with superhuman powers! We must GET BACK TO OUR ROOTS, and learn about BOB at the same time. It makes sense!

I am neither a Republican or a Democrat as I am an Independent.

It really pisses me off when one side or the other wastes time argueing over flashpoint issues rather than actually working together to solve our problems.

What is just as bad is when one or the other parties candidate becomes President the loosing party will scream, bitch and moan to no end declaring that...THIS IS THE END! THIS PRESIDENT IS THE ANTICHRIST!

It happens every time a President is elected. Well...GET OVER IT! The guy was elected and your party lost!

Unreal.

Woah there genius.... who gives you the right to jump into a post and start bashing it without putting up your share of evidence to support your claim that Obama(dictator) should NOT be impeached? You are a troll and should be banished from ATS, I put you on that list! Don't come to my neighborhood because you wouldn't last 5 minutes you'd either be dead or kidnapped and dropped in the ghetto with the rest of the people who think like you.
