Why does the Secret Service carry automatic weapons?
Why do rich people's kids go to schools that are protected by armed security?
Why did the British colonists in America pick up guns, cannons, and tri-cornered hats?

To protect them from crazy people.

You mean self-defence, you don’t have to be “crazy” to pull a trigger, this is the problem that I am having with the debate on gun control it is making the stigma that goes with mental health worse.

Guns are inexorably tied to crazy people, as are any dangerous sharp or pointy weapons.

A crazed individual (someone who avails themselves of social laws and morays) may take up arms and lash out in unpredictable ways.

It is therefore necessary in such an emergency situation to have the ability to defend ones self in an immediate way with equal force. A crazed police officer with PTSD waving a gun in your face is no better than a lunatic off his meds.

I ran this logic by a friend yesterday and he said we should ban crazy people.
In general, I mean crazy for the purposes of this thread to be someone who is driven by irrational or imaginary impulses to lash out violently against innocent victims

I really think that this could work.

Just a shame that the discussion about the borderline between "crazy" and "non-crazy, maybe just a little bit, but not enough to be in trouble" will take more than our lifetime to come to an end.

And it wouldn't be politically correct, righto?

What is crazy? What does it mean?

If Jesus returned today and landed in middle America we would never hear of it. He would be
quickly locked away in a mental hospital and sedated for his own good.

If true patriots armed themselves and marched on Washington in protest of the current attack
on the Bill of Rights, would they be crazy? Or are we the crazy ones for allowing our
fundamental laws to be trashed right under our noses without so much as a peep.

Crazy is as crazy does, my momma always used to say
