What we had is a museum in Russia that sold 1000 tickets at $1500 each to hang out in their bomb shelter for the solstice. The cool thing was that they gave back money if nothing happened. Well ... they handed back 50% in case nothing happened.

They sold out! That's half of $1.5 million in their pockets for a single night.
Russia

At least some legitimate enterprise was able to cash in on the silliness that is 2012.

Is anyone aware of any other such events that made money for good?

Love it! A fool and his money are soon parted.

December 21, 2012 is the biggest bust in woo-woo history.

2012 could be a good lesson for people if they try to learn why this was a hoax.

The problem is people not attempting to learn from their mistakes. There is a tendency to make the same mistakes over and over and over again as was seen throughout the 2012 debacle.

Were there any other good winners besides this museum?
