Don't fool yourself, Rick has the ear of some very influential people in the GOP and outside contributors in the corporate sector includeing the Koch bros. And to think the Koch bros aren't influential to the GOP is foolish.
If Santorum’s remarks are correct, Romney will have to rely, not only white people, but dumb white people, to seek out a victory in November. The former Pennsylvania Senator was railing against the American “intelligentsia” at the Values Voter Summit in Washington on Saturday. Like Stalin and Lenin before him, Santorum must feel that intelligent people are to blame for everything that is wrong in the world.
Everyone who isn't a republican already knows this. The GOP is the party of Low IQs...

I see a bit deeper into that statement. The fact is the true history of America is not taught in school nor will it ever be. Teachers unions ensure the Liberal agenda is drilled into students heads over and over. The educated are basically brainwashed with Liberal spew for 20 years so little wonder they come out hating Conservatives. Are they taught the KKK was started by a Democrat? Are they taught the Civil War was started because democrats refused to give up their slaves? Are they taught Republicans fought for black equality since the signing of the Constitution? Are they taught Al Gore SR was filibustering the GOP bill to ensure blacks right to vote when JFK was shot effectively ending it? Are they taught anything but what the left wants them to know? Educated does not mean smart. Some of the dumbest people i ever knew were highly educated.

Well since the majority does not belong to the "smart people" category, he will instead have the "dumb" people aka the majority on his side, which sadly accounts for more. But that is the same as any other major politician aiming to win the election right now; indeed both Obama and Romney are aiming to get the majority on their side as well, and they too know that these people are stupid. The smart people will always be a minority, and on the side of Ron Paul.

'Smart' people are the dumbest. Say 'human rights' or 'democracy' to them and they will agree with anything.

Equal human rights and REAL democracy sounds like great ideas to start with, now if only it were true...

"elite, smart people" does not equate to smart people. It equates to people who are elite, and smart. Not only did you get that context incorrect, you failed to incorporate a much deeper meaning in it.
I won't bother to try and teach you, though.
It's just sad.
Recent converging studies are showing that liberals tend to have a larger and/or more active anterior cingulate cortex, or ACC—useful in detecting and judging conflict and error—and conservatives are more likely to have an enlarged amygdala, where the development and storage of emotional memories takes place.

I was surprised he lasted as long as he did in the primary. I'd have thought him and Bachman would have been gone way early..
