A couple of things:
1) he was obviously joking. Was it funny, or clever? Not so much - but he seems to think it is.
2) he also, again obviously, had no idea how to seriously, and biblically, answer that question... and, rather than be honest, and say "look, I
really don't know how to help you. Maybe I can refer you to some people that CAN help you, however...", he decided to continue the joke.
I'd like to see the video in a fuller context, see if part 2 did occur. If it didn't, then Pat Robertson should be ashamed of himself for not at
least being honest and admitting he doesn't have the answers to everything.
I don't know either way.
...and for the record... despite my signature below, and the fact that those who've seen my posts will likely know I'm a Christian - I'm not
attempting to defend Pat Robertson (to be honest, I don't know a lot about him. I live in Australia and have never seen his show etc.)...
but I think honesty, even in relating events, is important... and I don't see much evidence of honest reporting in the video, given the limited
context. That's not to suggest that it's dishonest (it may not be - in fact, it may be an accurate representation of what occurred on PR's show), but
I am suggesting that it's hard to know without more info.
