As far as the EO's go, there is no evidence that Obama has enacted new policy. He is simply enforcing already existing law. A persons opinion to the contrary, does not a fact make.

Like his immigration policies?

As far as Bush goes. The reason why it is so easy to blame Bush policy on what his Congress did is because they were all lock step in agreement. They all parroted the same talking points and they all gave Bush what he wanted with no chckes in balances in the name of national security.

Democrat led senate and house Bush's last tw years. Hardly in lock-step.

With Obama , Congress has bucked everything he has tried to accomplish. Obamas own party members in Congress have time and time again stabbed the man in the back. So, yes. It is different with Obama than it was with Bush.

Perhaps it is because Obama's extreme visions are even too much for the democrats in his own party!

1. What did I just tell you about when a POTUS can clash with a STATE? When they try to change FEDERAL LAW. That is what the administration argued with respect to Arizona.

2. Noted. But the damage in the first six years was already done and the Democrats did nothing to reverse that .

3. No. The 50 State Strategy enacted by Gov. Howard Dean to elect Democrats in all 50 states, was a failure as the party embraced fake red state conservatives. Now, Obama is suffering from that strategy. The Democrats giving him a hard time are no different than the GOP.

Obama suffering....

Absolutely not. He is the single most egotistical self centered POTUS this Nation has elected in a long long time.

He has zero respect for our Constitution, he was elected to use as a guide in his enactment of changes. He does what he wants, irrespective of the law. He, quite frankly, scares the crap out of me.

You are in your comfort zone, blinders on, parroting what I hear from his devoted followers.

Yes, it was wrong then. Are you saying you only hold yourself to the standards of those you criticize?

I would hope such partisanship would be frowned upon here, but alas... it thrives:

"You guys did it to me, and it was wrong, so now im gonna do it to you, which makes me right"

The greatest con every four years is when everyone pays attention to the President, and no one notices whats going on in Congress.

If I were the GOP, i would keep getting people to focus on mitt and O, so no one notices when I take over congress in 2012 and 214.

I am pointing out hypocrisy. I was as critcal on Bush as I am to Obama.

I am just amused by the lengths some will go to, to defend this president.

Who here is defending Obama?

All I see is a post pointing out that the President is not Congress.

I will respond to your charge when you address what I said in the context in which it was said. I do NOT have blinders on. I see fully. I would argue that it is your "Blame Obama Blinders" that have prevented you from seeing that the damage being done to your life is coming from the Judicial and Legislative branches as well as state and local.

Obama will be gone either this November or in January of 2017. But these Congress members who continue to get re-elected precisely because they have you focused on the current president and the Supreme Court whose members have a lifetime appointment are the ones doing the real damage to your life.

You are wrong....Obama has made executive choices, excluding Congress, that have had a major impact on my current life. I don't care how precise you couch your words, you are wrong. I don't need to readdress your high school history book OP presentation of government, to know what is going on around me.

DREAM Act: Questions and answers about President Obama's immigration order for undocumented children

What President Obama did was to circumvent Congress by issuing an executive order that allows DREAMers a chance at the American dream, even if it is temporary. He halted the deportation of at least 800,000 (and it could be as high as over a million) illegal immigrants who were brought here as children.

Thank you Beezer. This is only one of many instances Obama has used his pen to create *new law*, and bypassed the procedures of Constitutional law. We haven't even addressed the debacle of Obamacare, and the ramifications that entails. There are abundant threads on those issues already.

Obama in fact, does consider his word to be law. He does think he is the final word on Government.

He is repainting our Government with his socialist brush, like some mad artist, with no thought to the original canvas of our Founding Fathers.

It's not a pretty, nor legal picture he's painting.

Accusations are not proof.

Around here they are, however, everything I posted has been documented.
You can look them up. Everybody else seems to know about the accusations I made. They are all over the internet. Check the index in your DNC Handook for "Topics to Avoid."

One thing every one leaves out is the financial sector. The dollar is the king of the USA and has more power than all the rest. Dollar can buy all the votes needed to do what ever it wants. Dollar can buy the congress and the senate. And if any one disagrees then the banksters will crash the system.

You know what I've noticed? How very little the president has control or blame for anything since Obama took office. When Bush was president, all were united in blaming him for everything. Hell, Obama and his media still do it on a regular basis. But, when Obama is concerned, he is to blame for nothing and in control of very little. Apparently.....

Oh really? So then Bush is not to blame for the Iraq war? You know since congress are the ones who voted to go to war? Let me guess, you have some rationalization for why that's different?

Thank you for a well written and informative thread. Although I still don't understand why we need the Senate

You will however, never convince a lot of the good people of ATS that Obama is not solely responsible for everything that is wrong with the world.

If they don't believe their talking heads propaganda then they may have to think for themselves. Which, God forbid, may bring them to the realization that it is they themselves that helped bring the country to the state it is in today. Far better for a sense of well being to blame a Bogey Man.

Every problem we have today is because we let money take over politics. Get the money out and then, and only then, will our elected members do what we voted them to do in the first place.

If not then we will always have the Government we deserve, not Government we want.

i'm a simple layman and don't understand the higher workings of what government actually does for us or more likely TO US.. i liked obama in the beginning and as time went on my thoughts where.. it's understandable he's not doing a good job look at the mess bush left the country in so once he gets things more inline to his own presidency THEN we'd see what time it is. sadly though i was wrong and at this point i'm not sure i care one way or the other, don't get me wrong though i have kids and i worry about their future more now than ever but i'm a pretty sick dude and while it's not immediate my time is definitely limited in a sooner rather than later kinda way and my outlook is it's horrifying but it'll be an interesting next few years so i plan on sitting back and watching TSHTF, literally. i know it's not a positive outlook but a long life of history repeating itself will get more than a few people thinking that way. by the way.. romney scares the crap out of me he reminds me of the president character in the movie "The Dead Zone" HA and paul.. well i liked him a lot for a sec but he's a bit sketchie to the more i see him in action, in a crazy, unstable old codger kinda way.

at it's very, very basic level i am reminded about something my gandma used to say about when i questioned her about why she spent so much time in the plating of her food she'd made.. she'd say "you eat with your eyes first" and it's the same thing picking out the dude you want to back as our next president it's like lawyers.. it doesn't matter who's right, who's wrong, who's guilty.. etc.. it solely depends on which one is the better actor! if anyone is more more deserving of being considered for oscar nominations it's definitely lawyers! anyway.. that's my 2 cents and if read all my BS.. Thanks haha frustration is a hard pill to swallow my friends.

ATS is AT-AWESOME

It's easier to blame the guy you hate rather than understand how the republic works though.

This is the truth.

If we all took just the headlines of ATS' political forum, Obama would be a Muslim, America killing, communist, Kenyan national, dog eating, rising gas prices, only caring about black people, OBL murdering, lying about having slave lineage, phony.

I guarantee there will be a handful of members who look at the above list and think ...."yeah, exactly"

That's the problem with this country. We have millions of citizens who somehow have come to believe that one man controls the ultimate destiny of the nation. That he makes all decisions and everything begins and ends with him. It's disgusting.

My question was asking who here is defending Obama.

You have not answered it. Because no one was. So you move the goal posts.

And yes, the Iraq war is WAY more than just Bush's fault. Plenty of Dems and Reps in congress voted for it, n real questions asked. Blaming just Bush, while many of these guys and gals are STILL IN CONGRESS is part of the distraction. Just like Blaming Obama for systemic issues. It's distraction for stupid people.

I'll try to put it even more plain.

When you stay at a hotel, even though the person behind the Front Desk is the face of the hotel, they are not responsible for the fly you found in your salad.

I've said my peace on this topic.
