The statement Tuesday by the nation's highest-ranking elected Republican sends a strong signal to party activists in this high-stakes election year, in which the presidency and majorities of Congress are at stake. Obama's stewardship of the economy is the issue that matters, Boehner said in response to questions about how prominently Republicans should play it on the campaign trail.

Look, TRUTH of the matter is that this country has Far More to worry about than weather or not Obama suports (kinda) Gay marriage. Not to mention the announcement is the night before Obama heads off to George Clooney's pad for a fund raiser. IMO-more political pandering.

And IMO-this time he stepped into it big time. He maybe reaping in the MSM & Hollywood "atta boy" right now but the after effect will bite him in the butt.

Anyway, all said and done, this country is on the bring of disaster with Obama at the helm....At least someone is trying to focus on jobs.

This whole "scene" going on reminds me of the tale of how the Roman Rulers kept the public's attention with Gladiators etc, while at the time Rome was burning all around....which led to it's end.

Maybe Boehner could send a message to North Carolina Republicans to focus on jobs, since they are the ones so concerned about what gays do. Hey, maybe they can ask Arizona to start focusing on jobs do? Instead of whether or not kids learn lessons of the bible in school? Boehner makes a good point, only he needs to direct it properly.

Well said. Focus has become very blurry, moving to hot button emotional issues that have zero to do with making the U.S. prosper again. Jobs, immigration reform, education reform, cutting military spending, health care...these are all much more important right now than who can get married where.
