Another Wisconsin Town Reports Strange Booms, Flashes of Light

Residents and police officers in the aptly named town of Baraboo, Wisconsin have reported hearing weird booming noises accompanied by bright flashes of light, paralleling the experiences of people in the town of Clintonville 130 miles to the north.

Authorities are baffled at the weird phenomena, and have ruled out lightning strikes or transformer blowouts as explanations for what people are witnessing.

“We don’t know if we have Clintonville going on here or what,” said Baraboo Police Chief Mark Schauf told the Baraboo News Republic

So the booming doesn't seem to be stopping, it seems to be spreading. what the hell is going on? why cant science comes up with something here? I have heard, i cant say i know cause i dont, but i have heard that these could be precursors to earthquakes. so the first thing that comes to my mind is New Madrid and of course 2012. anymore info on this or other booms is appreciated.
