It has not been proven in the thousands of years religion has existed, so I will not hold my breath for this one.

The desire to be pleasing to whatever individuals think of as god, is the bases for a lot of past cultures and they did pretty well as long as they held to those beliefs. Christianity, for example sets the standard of what God desires from a person higher than they see themselves ever achieving, and so it precludes people ever being satisfied with their self achievements, and are always striving to be just a little bit better. This sort of attitude is what I think is what is needed to save the world. God is the giver of rewards, and what makes it all worthwhile in the end, giving us the gift of a new life in the wold beyond this life and death scenario we find ourselves currently in.

Keep in mind, there's other religions other than yours. For example, in the Quran, Jihad is allowed under Islamic law. They are allowed to wage war against dissenters of Islam, and think they will be rewarded for it. Hence suicide bombers. Is this okay to do in your religion? Or is only your religion the 'right' one?

All religion does is separate people. What's right for one religion, is wrong for another.
People should stop buying into all the "God wants me to" BS, and start living for humanity.

Religion has always been a disease. It has caused more deaths, wars, and other horrible unjustifiable acts throughout history than anything else. As long as religion is in the picture, humanity will take one step back for every two steps forward it takes. Religion is disgusting, no matter how great you think your intentions are.

I admit there is mythology involved, including in Christianity. Some hyperbole that people eventually forgot was not supposed to be taken literally. Scaling back the god concept is in order, but there is still a core reality, even once you strip off the excessive dressing placed around God.

It has been proven to me, even though I did not ask for proof, but just the things I needed to keep being alive. I never had any doubts because God has been with me as long as I have been around. For example, I had someone aim a gun at my head and fire it at point blank and he didn't pull the trigger a second time, probably in a slight state of shock. But I realize people don't have that happen, and do get shot every day. I don't have an explanation other than it is up to God whether He chooses to intervene. The fact that it may not seem fair does not explain it away that strange things happen. I have a long list of times God intervened, to where as far as I can tell, God came and personally talked to me and took a hold of me, if that was what I needed at that time. In other cases, God came to people in visions to get them to either help me, or to not try to harm me. As strange as this might seem, the reality is even stranger than is easy to describe.

Of course but people are hard wired to believe in God, so you have to have a good religion to take the place of the old, bad religion.

Hmm. That may be a problem, and people need to be held responsible for the harm they do, and not allowed to hide behind religion as protection from justice.

Religion should unite people in a sort of way to where we see ourselves as being regarded by God as being on the same level, and that no one is exempt from doing what is right. I think it is natural to think of someone who cares how you behave, and it could be pictured as your dead ancestors, or your future descendants, and in the absence of those things, to think of how we are all made in the image of God and so all have an intrinsic value as human beings.

The evidence of God mounts up against the lack of evidence. In fact, without God, everything would be dark, null, and void. When I hear of hate, war, murder, adultery, corruption, stealing, pedophilia, rape, and so much more, I can come home from all that and see my beautiful family and all the good that happens around the world amidst the chaos and evil and I just know that God exists, because without God, the evil would completely take over. When its good vs evil, the good will prevail with God's intervention, because good people do not want to do bad, but bad people do NOT care!! Notice the world isn't blown up, destroyed, or completely unlivable. This takes divine intervention from a higher being, because if it was up to the leaders of the world we would be imprisoned and used as cattle.

Otherwise, as paradox stated, god remains a myth, and no amount of blind faith in the world will change that fact.

We've searched for the ever elusive god of legend, but haven't been able to find any evidence to prove that he was ever here. Even bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster have more scientific evidence proving their reality.
