I agree with Obama. This idea that we should just drill our energy problems away isn't a solution at all. It was fairly clear that towards the end of
the 1970's we had already reached the peak of domestic crude oil production, drilling has steadily declined since then.

Well, Mr. Obama, why was it again that you went to Brazil to broker a huge oil deal with them, claiming that America wanted to be "one of their best
customers". The deal was to give Brazil $2 billion dollars, and then buy oil.
Why not? For now we need to make good with foreign crude oil producers because domestic producers have certainly demonstrated that they don't have
the capacity to lift America off her dependence. What's more, even if domestic crude producers were to somehow increase production toward pre-70's
levels, what makes you think they'd obligate themselves to sell solely domestically? Do you believe a company like Exxon Mobile have their patriotic
priorities in check first? Or do you think it's profit for them first?
Republicans are not prepared to work out a national solution toward moving off of crude oil, it's just drill here and drill there. I don't see Obama
as hypocritical in his actions, he believes that we need to move toward alternatives but at the same time, he isn't stupid, he knows in the mean time
we have priorities over strengthening ties with foreign crude producers.
