An inning is a period in baseball. There are nine standard innings in a game (where during an inning, each team has a turn at bat to score runs). Each team must get 3 outs before the next team can bat. (That's the trick of the question, most people will answer 3 outs, but since there are actually TWO teams that play in an inning...there are actually 6 outs in the inning...)
