She's smoking some good stuff....

Napolitano: Mexican drug war 'not a failure'

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said Monday that the war on drugs in Mexico "is not a failure."

At a press conference in Mexico City after meeting Mexican Interior Minister Alejandro Poire, Napolitano called the drug policies of both Mexico and the United States "a continuing effort to keep our peoples from becoming addicted to dangerous drugs."

Yeah right... it's all about saving people right? While the legal drugs are being pushed on kids younger and younger and are as addictive.

Please. Go sell your BS to kindergartners... they might buy it.

In other news, CIA brands it as a success too.

yeah 30,000 + people dying because of drug cartels, and their lack of control over the situation isn't a failure?

Well of course its not a failure. There is no war on it, just the poor people in the U.S. who use the drugs. The CIA has been running drugs to support themselves for at least 30 years.

From their point of view it is NOT a failure. Is the CIA down here controlling drug traffic? Yeah, they're controlling a lot more of it than they were before. Has arresting cartel heads been getting results? Yes, with each kingpin removed at least two new ones emerge in his place and often splinter into new group operations - though that runs counter to the definition of "cartel" which are groups banded together to limit competition in a particular enterprise as now it is more wide-spread.

Success has come in propelling this into a multi-billion dollar business as that can only happen under strict prohibition policies. Non-criminalized these drugs would be worth a mere pittance, less than a penny on each dollar made in this fabricated illicit market. The governments know exactly what they're doing and have their fingers in this pie.

Failure? Heck no, it is a grand success! Just ask the US banks that launder the money. $387bn. for Wachovia. And that's just the one they got caught for, years ago.

That's just what the taxpayers pay for such a noble effort. And that is mere chicken-feed for the return govt gets for our money.

Every drug war is a failure, for you cannot constitutionally direct a living being's actions, either morally, ethically or in any other way, in regards to their own bodies. Even connecting everyone to a chain of guilt doesn't do it. Primarily because you have failed to address why they are seeking this relief to begin with, which tells you it is nothing but a loaded gun, put in your own hand, to point at your own head.....to either fund a system, a hierarchy, or get rid of you.

Because of drug cartels? Because of drug prohibition. How many people would die in an open market? Probably much less than now if you eliminate the prohibition violence. But then what would happen to that market, the money, and ability to fund black programs? No more nation-building or funding rebels with drug profits. And police and prison guards in the unemployment lines... We need more such failures or the global economy would collapse.

Well don't find out why or say anything if you do. There would be no more Miller Time. No Bud for you.

A fundamental problem with government programs is that if they solve the problem they will be out of a job.

Have you seen any estimates of the total amount of money accumulated by the drug cartels? I heard on C-SPAN that the amount of money in off-shore accounts is equal to the amount of money spent on black projects which is equal to the money made by drug cartels.

To win the "War on Drugs" is to legalize all drugs.

But as everyone here knows that means no funds for the shadow government black projects.

It's encouraging to see people wise to the deception but expect more of the same from tptb.

Even neo-conservative William F. Buckley advocated the legalization of all drugs for christsake.

Thanx Vitchilo for another great thread.

Anyone with intelligence knows that the united states could easily destroy all drug cartels and end all importation of drugs. It is a matter of using all the anti-terror teams such as the TSA and other similar unnecessary organization at the borders instead of within the homeland.
