Yes we are all responsible for the problems of obesity in children. We do it every day, and it is very obvious, after all when we purchase a can of
vegitables, or any other processed food from any store, we add to the over all condition and problem that is leading to this kinds of problems.
Combine that with every time they pass a law that say bans competitive sports, or makes it mandatory for safety gear on a child for simple activities
to even restricting what a school could do for children all cause the child may either get hurt or it offends someone, and there you have it, a
combination of things from us all, that has led to this problem.
Here you go, take the food issue. We all virtually live off of preprocessed food, no one really cooks with fresh any more, it is easier to open a can
and heat something up. But what many people don’t realize is that part of the process of preserving that food, well it makes the food insulin
rejecting, leading to the body producing higher amounts of insulin and storing more calories, making a person more hungry and causing them to eat more
and more, gaining more and more weight.
Combine that with the laws that have been passed, to protect the children, leads to inactivity, after all is it bad that a child breaks his arm
falling out of a tree, so the laws are changed to protect the child and one more activity is taken away.
Combine that with the ease of technology and information flowing in, that just merely entertains and does not inform, leading to people becoming
complacent.
Combined with a reactionary government, that reacts to situations rather than is proactive in its nature.
All of this started long before many of us were born, just that the effects are now hitting the country.
How many times have you gone to McDonalds or any fast food place, how much in junk food have you bought, how many cans of preprocessed food have you
bought and consumed? All cause it is easy and yet fail to see that all plays into the very nature of what is the problem, childhood obesity. Any one
who understands business dynamics, can tell you that if the people want it, they will purchase an item, sending the costs down.
Attend PTA and get involved in the schools, that would change much, but people don't so as a collective we all are guilty of making children fat.
Want to change the end result, well for starters eat fresh food, make the processes raise the prices for say canned corn, while lowering the fresh.
Make children go out and play, and keep high end electronics expensive. Make the condition of being lazy painful and being busy pleasurable.
