Its just being pointed out

but did you watch the video? They agreed and supported the study. Also it's their program they could have chosen to not report on it if they didn't believe it to be true.

So yeah.

Agree. One of the 'reporters' said "I back the survey"... funny how the people who are saying "you missed the point, they are just reporting the survey" are IGNORING that one of the reporters agreed with the survey and NONE of them at any point said it was false/stupid.

Who cares if one of them agreed with the study? It was a study, someone actually did the study and came to a conclusion. A reporter agreed with it. So what? Is he not entitled to an opinion?

Sorry but I do not see the point here.

I am having a tough time understanding what issue people have with FOX news for reporting on this? It was a study and all FOX News is doing is reporting on the results. While they are reporting on the results, they are laughing, which does not actually give credibility to the study. They then ask others what they think.

This is actually what reporting is. You give your viewers the facts (which they did) then allow them to decide for themselves (which they also did). So what exactly is the issue here? Is it with FOX News for reporting on it or is it about the actual results of the study?

So when you say 'they are laughing, which does not actually give credibility to the study' once again, you are ignoring that one reporter said "I back this story"-- which erases your entire "logic" that they are "reporting what is."

Again- they may be laughing but NONE of them ever comment how stupid this study is.

most the people here dont get it. thats why there is so much OWS support too.

this place is full of special, unique snowflakes, who are entitled to everything great America has to offer. and they are entitled to it just because theyre special!

free food
free rent
free school
free health care
free this
free that
then they cry non stop when somebody wants to work harder and get something better for themselves.

the study is absolutely right about Mr Rogers and this child coddling, "youre so special" attitude.

and talking to my teacher friends about how high school is these days, with no child left behind, and their inability to punish students, is terrifying. in their district, students dont have to hand in homework on any deadline. nope. the student gets to decide when they feel like turning it in. boy i cant wait to work with these graduate babies who have zero concept of the business world and reality in general.

I failed in my life and I never even watched that show. Hated it. Boring POS. I mostly watched saturday morning cartoons and the sh** on channel 12 after school. I never watched anything in the morning because I was too tired. As an adolescent I liked MacGyver, Airwolf, Nightrider, Quantum Leap, Discovery Channel, A-Team and Star Trek. I became an expert at figuring out how to waste time without others knowing. I learned how to study for tests given minimal time.

I think I failed because because I wasn't circumcised. This is based on years of research into moon tides, crustaceans in the indian ocean, snow pack in brazil and quantum mechanics. My reputation, of course, is unquestioned and dirt free. My invisible friends can vouch for me.

Another possibility I have entertained is that I never had a GF.

www.bankrate.com ...

Tell me that Robin Cook doesn't deserve to be rich.

He worked his butt off for years and years and years. Of course he deserves it.

So you want to take his money? Why? He worked hard for it. Why the animosity towards him?

Sure, life doesn't always go the way we want.

But circumstance shows us that those who work the hardest are best able to survive.

If somebody is out of work for a prolonged period of time then it's most likely because: a) they didn't think ahead b) they feel entitled. Even a disabled person can make money. People want to point at the system and blame it because it's easier than blaming themselves.

Show me a out of work person and I can show you how they can become wealthy and successful, IF they work hard and put in the time. There're, ultimately, no excuses to escape from it.

Everybody has a talent. Everybody can work. But not everybody is willing to work hard.

That's the difference. People who're out of work are unwilling to work hard.

This recession has shown us who's strong and who's weak.

When I was 19 I kicked someone out of my house for saying Mr.Rodgers was a pedophile. I kicked him out and he thought i was joking. I was serious, told him "He is a veteran who served his country. He is now having a show that has a great positive impact not only on them, but future generations. Then I asked the person "what have you done with your life to impact someone let alone millions of people"

Shame on Faux news for talking bad and flat out disrespecting a deceased person. Disgusting!

This man loved Star Trek and says it was partly his inspiration for becoming an astronaut:

At 0:55 he talks about his interest in Star Trek.

There're other examples. One of the people who helped spread cellphone technology across the country and world said he was inspired as a child by the Star Trek communicators.

So I think we can safely say Star Trek didn't ruin my life.

You know what? I think -I- ruined my life. But that's much too complicated.

A far simpler explanation is that I ate too much peanut butter and too many beef/bean burritos.

There is so much OWS support due to Americans getting tired of the corruption on Wall Street and in Washington. It has nothing to do with entitlements. Even conservatives are waking up to the fact that having traditional American values does not mean you have to ignore rampant corruption in the private sector. It's just as bad as corruption in the government.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with Mr Rogers telling kids they are special. Would it be better if he told them they are moronic and deserve to die? That they are the ugliest thing he has ever seen. That their parent should be ashamed of ever bringing such a sorry excuse for a human into the world. Would that make the tough love people happy? Maybe even bringing back workhouses for kids.

The attack on Mr. Rogers, be it tongue-in-cheek or not, is far from the point here - something EVERYONE on this thread seems to be missing.

What matters is the way FOX subversively uses this sort of propaganda fluff to plant yet more seeds of political brainwashing in their viewer's extremely gullible minds.

The whole piece is just an elaborate excuse to generalize all youth of today - e.g. the sort of people who are...oh, I dunno...currently Occupying Wall Street - as nothing but self-entitled underachieving whiners who want to freeload off the backs of some revisionist harder-working older generation, and demand handouts for themselves to instill global communism and take your freedoms and blah blah blah.

The head shills at FOX News like Rupert Murdoch have known for a long time how much the establishment they represent is raping the next generation of any possible chance at a decent future.

So considering this video is a few years old, it's actually pretty revealingly prophetic:

These people knew the inevitable backlash like OWS was coming.

So they have been setting up their defenses and rallying the ignorant masses against it for a long time.

And look at the results:

Now that a bunch of pissed off young people are finally hitting the streets in droves to express their legitimate frustrations with the system - instead of these hillbillies actually listening to what anyone has to say - the FOX News drones all immediately come out on the attack claiming these people "don't even know what they're protesting", and that they're just a bunch of self-entitled stoners who think they're special because they watched too much Mr. Rogers...

I don't think anyone at FOX News actually believes Mr. Rogers was evil. I think they just saw this study as a convenient tool to help spread their ignorant propaganda that much further, so they threw him under the bus in order to get there.

I have to admit, my initial reaction was "Fox you, Fox & Friends...!". But then I felt sorry for them. I mean, they were put into a very difficult position, to have to decide whether or not to run a story about a University study personifying everything they are paid to loathe about society in one of society's few remaining politically-neutral middle-class icons.

You can tell in the clip that they don't believe the words that are coming out of their own mouths, but hey, whatever pays the bills and it makes their target audience feel good about themselves.

Go ahead, agree with the study. Fred Rogers was wrong to teach children, for decades, that they are special. He was wrong to teach the value of civility and kindness and manners and imagination. Who needs or wants any of those old fashioned values anyway?

Socialists, that's who...!

Hey, while they're at it, I have a study linking unwed teen pregnancy to Barney the Dinosaur..."I love you, you love me, we're a happy famI-ly...". That's really code for "go out and have sex and live on welfare."

Reading Rainbow? ...all about the homosexual agenda. "But don't take my word for it..."

...

Okay, enough of that silliness.
Seriously though, if those Neanderthals want to make Mr. Rogers a symbol of everything that is wrong with liberal society in the modern era...there are few people I, as a liberal, would be prouder to be associated with.

Good job, Fox News...you just alienated a very large segment of several generations.

although fox news is a joke in general, this show takes the cake. other fox reporters and pundits avoid it like the plague. the best (worst) ones are when gretchen is on, she has to be the dumbest tard on all television.
