Oh yeah, and just a small thing I noticed in a thread with pics of murals at the Denver intl airport......one mural had a message that was dated 2038.,,,,just a continuation of the questions I raised above in regards to time.....how do we really know what year this is, and that we are not constantly just re loopng what's gone before, all to blame the one who has nothing whatsoever to do with it, that the rest might getsinfree, an advertising phrase I have heard many times before in this current phase. If you make a taboo, and then cause a population to break said taboo in order to garner their survival, then this evil becomes the way of the world and a justification, and elected path in order to "save" while in fact subverting, and justifying....
You, NAM, and your knowledge of the bible, should inform you that it warned us all of this.
But imagine, for a moment, in a holographic, electric universe, one could sell this as a way to use a quantum AI to do the real work for all of us so that none of us would ever have to work again, for this computer would regulate things, provide blame, justification, proofs, and thereby unify us and let us party and sensate till we drop...utopia for many...... And I say this as one who loves to feel good and loves a good party, but the chi of the real one wasn't just about this..
.it was about healing, and true completeness, and i believe we have been belittled and humiliated as a species, reduced to the lowest common denomintar, to accept a chi, an energy, that is in fact the opposite, so that we accept and rely upon technology that provides us the above described mainframe to ever enslave us and reject what we were always meant to be, and was complete and healing in and of itself.
Anyway, I sure enjoy the exchange of ideas.....

Re: Time travel - from a lecture at the Institute of Quantum Computing (interesting if you can get past the students' boredom)

Do you mean that we could kill it, if it came to life and became self aware, whether by infecting it with a virus or throwing an army of nanobots at it?

Regarding the possibility of computer insanity arising (as per the story another poster shared), they could always create a computer psychologist computer to treat his insane "brother" and keep him on the straight and narrow..

But just imagine a million qubit neural net, capable of contextual comparative analysis and the generation of meaningful and purposeful, creative novel forms? That in and of itself is insane and is incomprehensible.

I am convinced that these qubit machines represent the technological singularity, which will occur between 2020 and 2030.

Scary stuff!

But what kind of world will this generate, and will it be ethical, compassionate, and free, honoring the unique experience of the individual, and who will be running such machines if the first one to be purchased was bought by Lockheed Martin?! That's also scary.

And why didn't this thread garner more interest? That too bothers me, that everyone will eventually roll over and then stare fixated at their handheld God while listening to his every word like an obediant and willing desciple. Then again, maybe he'll be worth listening to, who knows, but that it will come upon us without warning, and without pause is rather disconcerting to say the least.

Yeah, with Lockheed Martin in the mix, ya gotta know it's all about the military industrial complex, "initially." But you know, ARPA was like that before the internet morphed into what it is today (I know, I was on the original ARPA cum internet in 1978 through CDC Corp. when only intelligent life swam in the sea of electrons LOL, showing my age). But what happened, first the military had it, then the schools and techno-corporations, then the porn industry, then the hackers, then the ordinary user and now, well, we're buried under a load of advertising garbage and span. So it's back to the corporations, except it is also being used by governments for spying and tracking activity, another CIA/NSA/CSIS (choose your flavour of alphabet agency) tool, run by "tools."

So hopefully if qBit follows past development curves, the second result of this technology will be to make an intelligent machine that makes more intelligent machines, which as a third result can make a perfect woman.

Cheers - Dave
