Communist? hardly.
Look at their demands, you can now vote on them.
coupmedia.org...

well i see the multiple-choice conversion is working beautifully.

however, what you linked appears more like a lottery than a declaration of grievances.
grievances chosen by process of elimination is akin to a physicians' diagnosis.
either way, the answer is usually a disease of one kind or another.

once upon a time, children were required to be educated via 'essays' ... then, that became too difficult and thought provoking sooooo, the establishment created "multiple-choice" --> less thought, greater "chance" of being correct.

Once upon a time, children questioned their leaders ... not so much any more.
shame to see such drastic changes occur in a lifetime as short as mine.

If this is the 'process' by which grievances are addressed, i'll pass.
i stand a greater chance of winning the local lottery.
shame on our teachers, shame on our parents, shame on ourselves for not demanding more of ourselves.

this protest appears more like a parade.
this protest sounds more like a pack of beggars.
this protest has no foundation.
this protest isn't even sure of it's own complaints (grievances)
anyone volunteering to participate in this mish-mash of emotions has no sense of what a protest is supposed to achieve.

real protests begin with an agenda.
real protests have a following from the onset.
real protests don't evolve as TPTB sees fit/allows.
and real protests haven't adorned American streets in 20yrs.
oh, and btw, America is NOT a democracy.
it wasn't designed as one, hasn't developed as one and most Americans have no interest in one. America is a Repbulic ... can't handle that, you're free to leave.

here's the part that boggles my mind ... most of these 'protesters' have plenty of time and ability on their hands, rather use it productively to actually make a difference in their own communities, they prefer to pretend they're making a difference by merely loitering in the streets.

shakers and breakers seldom loiter ... they shake and break
movers and designers ... join the legislature
so whose foot soldiers are these??
clearly, they are not shakers and breakers, obviously by the lottery of demands, they are not movers or designers ... so, who and what are they, exactly?

this group, who might want to sleigh one head of the hydra is accomplishing what exactly?
as i see it, all they've done is make room for more misdeeds to occur so they can wag their finger faster.
i hardly call that any kind of success.

Thats all well and good but your information and sources are 30-40 years old. The world has changed since the days of disco. Now, capitalism is out of our control and in the hands of psychopathic tyrants. So to bring up manifestos and sources from 1978 is not very good evidence of this evil communist plot to save you from illegal banking practices that came to a head a week ago
edit on 29-9-2011 by doctornamtab because: (no reason given)

only in your dreams has the world changed so very much.
for those of us who were here then, it is much worse now than then by a loooong shot.
real capitalism hasn't existed in this country for some time now.
you comparing corporatocracy with capitalism is the saddest component of this entire event.

ppl over age 70 in America have not known capitalism as it's intended.
ppl under 30 have no conception of the perpetual communistic push in America since it was born.
for you to think the "illegal banking practices" began in the 70s shows you're totally incapable of comprehending the whole story behind, within and pushing this protest event.
since you refuse to learn the history, please quit pretending you have a clue

thank you and as a historical side-note ... i've noticed some ppl dragging Abe Lincoln's name into the mix, this is also not surprising since most in this generation are Not aware that Lincoln was a communist.

And, it was his Marxist policies which divided the country so much that a revolution ensued ... however, not over personal freedoms or slavery, but the secession of a majority of the southern states.

This is our true history and i sure wish ppl would make an effort to learn some of it and why the communist manifesto has lasted sooooo very long regardless how many times it's repeatedly proven false or a failed concept.

Here's just a few of the commies involved in this demonstration.Have a look at the picture below and read the sign, you'll notice at the bottom it says workers.org.Have any idea what that is?.. I do...

The Worker's World Party (WWP) is a Marxist-Leninist sect that was founded in 1959 by Sam Marcy.Marcy and his followers were members of the Socialist Worker's Party (SWP) until 1958,when they split from SWP because, unlike that organization, they supported the presidential bid of the Progressive's Party Henry A. Wallace in 1948, the 1956 Soviet invasion of Hungary, and the regime of Mao Zedong in China.
Source

The distant origins of the WWP go back to the Global Class War Tendency, led by Sam Marcy and Vincent Copeland, within the Socialist Workers Party. This group first crystallized during the presidential election of 1948 when they urged the SWP to back Henry Wallaces's Progressive Party campaign, rather than field their own candidates. Throughout the 1950s the GCWT expressed positions at odds with official SWP policy, categorizing the Korean War as a class, rather than imperialist, conflict; support of the People's Republic of China as a workers' state, if not necessarily supporting the Mao leadership; and supporting the suppression of the Hungarian Revolution by the Soviet Union in 1956[2].

WWP is a strong supporter of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il.The organization campaigned against the war-crimes trial of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, and it backed Saddam Hussein in his pre-war conflicts with the United States.WWP also supported the Soviet invasions of Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan.During the Cold War it always sided with the Communists, against America.
Source

The World Socialist website describes its WWP comrades as being "dominated by the perspective of protest politics...and political opportunism"; further, WWP "openly backs the dictatorial regime in North Korea", and it supported "the Serbian nationalist government of Slobodan Milosevic." WWP apologetics also encompass the vile dictatorships of communist China, socialist Iraq, and communist Cuba.

Still not Communist...Meet Manik Mukherjee Indian Communist leader as he speaks to a gathering of political activists in NYC on September 19th.
Here is an article about it from Worker's World's website and a video taken at the Solidarity Center NYC:
Source

Manik Mukherjee, co-chairperson of the International Anti-Imperialist and People’s Solidarity Coordinating Committee and a leader of the Socialist Unity Center of India, spoke to a gathering of political activists in New York City at the Solidarity Center on Sept. 19.
“A conscious proletarian movement will develop from within with the help of a Marxist-Leninist party. A revolutionary party will have to educate the people. This can only be done under the leadership of a communist party in India.”
“It is impossible to solve the problems of the crisis — to provide for health, jobs, environment, peace — while maintaining the same system we have today. We will need a system of peoples’ power like the soviets of the 1917 Russian Revolution.”

Also notice the writing at the top(picture) says "a job is a right."uhh, sorry it isn't unless you're a commie. He got that from his friend Mr. Stalin and his countries constitution:Chapter X,Article 118 states:
Source

ARTICLE 118. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to work, that is,are guaranteed the right to employment and payment for their work in accordance with its quantity and quality.
The right to work is ensured by the socialist organization of the national economy, the steady growth of the productive forces of Soviet society, the elimination of the possibility of economic crises, and the abolition of unemployment

You can also see those people worship the Butcher of Latin America,Che Guevara, who it is estimated, murdered 4,000 men, women and children opposed to “the revolution."

I feel like some youngsters have the misconception that communism is a grand social party that just throws their daily earnings into one big pot and live happily together.

edit on 27-9-2011 by SourGrapes because: so many spelling a grammar errors. ARGH it's late!

Ok, so what would the form of government be called that WAS like this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ? Maybe we need to invent a new word so people who like to share things aren't confused as communists. *shrugs*

What group of Americans would it be alright to protest the Banks? It seems every group is either a bunch of commies or a Corporatists wet dream. Is it possible for a grass roots movement to exist?

Zack, sorry to burst your bubble but there is NO such government structure ... no new word, needed.
if restaurants cannot achieve the "pooling" concept successfully, it certainly won't/can't apply for the world.
And, the big question all of you keep avoiding is ... who is the decision maker ??
all resources that have to be dispersed ... who makes that decision ??

THE group of Americans who have a PLAN.
Not a secret plan or a lottery or membership to gamblers anonymous.

When those Americans come forward, a sea of ppl shall accompany them ... from all walks of life. why is this soooo difficult for the children to understand?

Agreed with OP. This is just like the hippy revolution or the Bolshevik revolution. The elites are doing it and trying to make it look like its grassroots. There are no grassroots revolutions. The elites / Satan want a New World Order. How will they set it up when the bible warns about such? They will have to create their own puppet "Illuminati" (Rockefellers, Rothschilds, etc) and they will allow themselves to be sacrificed. Then, when people think that the New World Order was already defeated, will they be allowed to create the real new world order. Most people will buy into it since they believe that it was already defeated

Occupy Wall Street: Lawlessness & Communist Revolution

Source

For more than two months, the privately owned Zuccotti Park has been jam-packed with thousands of protesters, tourists, journalists, and media camera crews. Local residents and business owners have complained that the OWS invasion has caused the 33,000-square-foot “pocket park” to become a magnet for crime and disruptive, unruly, and unsanitary behavior, including public urination and defecation, public lewdness, nudity, vandalism, assaults, theft, and illegal drug use.
