So if we as american taxpayers unioninzed we would be untouchable?

Somehow I don't think that would fly but it is nice to fantasize about reducing the sum total of all taxes (hidden as fees) to under 10% of what a person earns.

10% of everyone is still a lot. What do they do with it all?

Typical union thuggery.

Too bad the guards weren't armed. Turn some heads into a fine red mist.

Some people crack me up. They get mad at tptb and the status quo. Get mad that no one stands up and fights back. And then when someone from the opposite side of the political spectrum does just that, its thuggish. If it was tea party folks doing this at the Fed, full of praise many would be. I don't condone what these guys did, but for everyone who feels bad for these poor persecuted corporations and how unfair life is for them, puh-lease.

Stretching to associate the Tea Party (original) with union bullies might get you a pulled muscle at best.

It's like comparing Hillary Swank to the Founding Fathers because they are all bi-pedal and carbon-based.

Isn't that EXACTLY what you tried to do before ATS changed the title of your thread? If your point was not that they are comparable then the original point of your thread is further lost. Or is it that now that the title has changed, so has the ideology behind it?

Its all about bias. Take it from there.

Bias from whom
aimed at what?

Have you been living in a cave? Have you not seen the almost daily tea party bashing on this thread that is directly related to the press coverage given to them?

Ah so you had to go elsewhere to find me examples of this bias? Pardon me but I was asking the author of this thread what bias he specifically was trying to point out toward the TEA party with a story that has nothing to do with the TEA Party.

The simple fact that you had to go looking for examples only makes my question that much more valid. What is Beezzer talking about here? What bias towards whom? The article is not about the TEA party. How are you not getting this?

I think beezer just made the liberal folk mad.....they took a look at the title, came in with a crap eating grin on their face - read the OP and then got mad that their hopes of bashing the tea party was ruined.

That is narrow minded and really imbecilic to presume and suggest like you know something... tee he he, because you know squat.

I know exactly how people like you think, your opinion > my opinion. But seeing your reply, your just mad, hit a sore spot didn't I? Just keep on spitting out the liberal rhetoric, I am sure you will convince someone into believing you.

No I always comment on the suck ups who offer nothing but lock step agreement and the ridiculous fantasies in their head as any kind of a constructive answer. Oh so 7th grade. Another one who doesn't know what liberal means. Do you really want the queen back?

Just as I am upset by this ugly turn of events. Just pointing out the irony with some people. Not everyone, just the extremists that must exist in every group. There is always that small percentage that creates the stereotype, usually the most extreme, loud and therefore, attention/hype attracting. That's the media. They have the power to create a stereotype for everything. Like I said, not all union members are thugs, as I know most tea partiers aren't nuts.

I've already spoken my peace on Unions in this thread (We absolutely still need union's. But we need them like we need nuclear bombs and fuel-air-explosives... as a deterrent. If companies would take care of their people they would never feel the need to unionize. Middle management is the first line of defense against Unionization.) so instead I'll go ahead and talk about your oh-so-precious Tea-party for a moment.

For those of you whom despise the Tea-party so much, for whatever reasons (fear, irritation, anger, disagreement, jealousy, whatever) I challenge you to go to one of their rally's. Don't just watch the 30 second clips or 10 minute videos on the internet. Go and spend the day. You will find that they are not a threat. Oh perhaps your precious status-quo might be in danger. (Common sense can do that.) But, that's about it.

Yes, they have lots of words and speeches, but honestly I can't understand where the hatred comes from. Is it because they have the gall to peacefully organize in public places? Is it because there are vendors there, in effect allowing a minor temporary boost in the local economy? Or is it because they have a different opinion than you do?

Every rally seems to have at least one heckler. Do your homework and go be that person if you want. Just a word of warning, be polite... Many of those senior citizens enjoying a warm summer afternoon in the park have done their homework and will shame an unprepared heckler.

(Better yet, do what all the rest of the hecklers do, memorize a speech or two without doing your homework and go make everyone else feel superior about being there.)

Overall I agree with most of the Tea-Parties goals. (Things such as reduced government spending, opposition to taxation in varying degrees, and adherence to an originalist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.) Personally, I just don't agree with the methodology they suggest. However, it would certainly stir things up.

You against free and fair elections?
You prefer the monarchy as opposed to elections?

I already said my father was a union member. So what? You have something against people who actually work for a living and contribute something tangible? You prefer skimming profits off the top of something already made? Passing OTHER PEOPLES MONEY around and taking bits of it along the way?

I don't need to ether lie or educate you. Why should I care you choose to remain misinformed? Most people are either Republican or Democrat and they can be liberal as well. Liberal only means in that context you are willing to break free of a monarchy or an oligarchy and extend protected class and voting rights to everyone liberally rather than JUST the privileged class the titled or the elite.

liberal-democratic principles of individual freedom, social equality and political democracy.

Liberal democracy, also known as constitutional democracy, is a common form of representative democracy. According to the principles of liberal democracy, elections should be free and fair, and the political process should be competitive. en.wikipedia.org...

And they all advocate "liberty" over socialism. YOU are confusing social justice with social-ism. Social justice is not socialism but I am sure you can make an ism out of the concept of justice if you put your propaganda pen to work. Not that I am saying you can but someone with imagination might. You will simply shake your head up and down and follow along repeating a tired line of rhetoric until they provide you with a new one.

Back in the days of the Health Care debate I went to our Tea Party rally wearing a T-Shirt that said I want the same health care plan members of congress have - after all, they work for me. I had to leave because I was getting spit on by people going by in trucks....and I am white.

God and Other Famous Liberals: Recapturing Bible, Flag, and Family from the Far Right
www.goodreads.com...

Forrest Church takes on the religious right and political conservatives... Emphasizing the strong connection between liberalism and democracy, he debunks the myth of the moral superiority of the conservative viewpoint.

With an excellent forward by Anne Eleanor Roosevelt...
God And Other Famous Liberals is recommended reading for everyone, freethinker or religionist, who support the principles of church-state separation, and whose are saddened by the spectacle of the Religious Right claiming moral superiority over not only the "Godless Humanist" but the Religious Left as well.

An intellectual study on today's political and social issues addresses the topics of religion, patriotism, and family values while emphasizing the strong connection between liberalism and democracy.

rogerhollander.wordpress.com...

New research from the London School of Economics suggests that liberal, atheist adults who believe in monogamy have higher IQs than their conservative, religious, philandering contemporaries.

In an article, published this month in the journal Social Psychology Quarterly, Kanazawa found that teens who identified as “not at all religious” had an average IQ of 103, while those who identified as “very religious” had an average IQ of 97, reports the Toronto Star.

While man’s first dealings with “evolutionary novel” situations may have been the employment of logic and reasoning to deal with a flash flood or sudden fire, over time more and more of human activity has fallen into the “evolutionary novel” category. Kanazawa argues that people with a higher intelligence are better able to consider these novel elements and that a belief in liberalism and atheism show an ability to apply reason to novel events. “Liberalism, caring about millions of total strangers and giving up money to make sure that those strangers will do well, is evolutionarily novel,” Kanazawa says.

I think that's an AWESOME T-shirt... "they work for me..." darn skippy... I think our representatives forget that sometimes... I'm sorry you had to leave the rally... But, I'm glad to hear it wasn't the Tea-partier's that chased you off...

Even the heckler's at the two rally's I visited (before I got bored with them) didn't get spat on or have anything thrown at them... sure they got a nice little crowd of patriots argueing and forceing a little common sense into their diatribe... but the line toward physical attack was never crossed...

on a side note...
I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that said "THINK... Its not illegal yet!"

TEA party bashing threads on ATS?
Is that what this is a response to?
I was under the impression that ATS was a TEA party stronghold and at least here you all had the upper hand.
So this thread is a response to the abuse you take here?
Can I please have some kind of link to all these abusive threads?
