...reminds me of a joke...sorry if you've heard it before:

This is a nice and very old puzzle in which one undertakes to prove �2 equals 1� ( the 2's are "squared")

a = b multiply both sides by a
a2 = ab take b2 from both sides
a2 - b2 = ab - b2 then factorise
(a+b) (a-b) = b (a-b) then divide by (a-b)
a+ b = b but b = a
so 2a = a
so 2= 1
the flaw of course is in line �divide by (a-b) because you are, of course, dividing by zero.

I don't get what you are trying to prove or say. All I see is a bucnh of algebra. Man I wish I did good in math. Can anyone explain what he is trying to do/prove/say?
