As my topic title states, the riots should continue, and they should grow larger, and those of you who actually want something changed in this world,
instead of accepting the status quo and going about your 9-5 while complaining in the evenings on the web, perhaps you should all join in as well.
You might want to consider that the 9-5 is not a bad deal.It generally indicates that one is working for their money. The routine, or rat race, is not
something that is going to slip away in some anarchist or socialist utopia.
Another point is that there is a difference between protesting and rioting... with the latter usually acted out for no reason other than to impose
destruction and misery on everyone and everything in reach. If that's your concept of a good life, you're probably in need of help you won't find
here.
I do agree, however, that things are not perfect. Not even close to acceptable. But I find most of the problems today rooted in the divisions of
people, not their unity. This nation (US) is already polarized enough. It doesn't need someone worsening the damage already done.
In closing... I don't want this to be taken wrong but, I've already seen all of this show before. I was a part of it, from both sides even. I
understand the youthful ideological drive to torch all of that you dislike or distrust. I experienced the thrill that comes with battling the
corruption that defines modern society. I can relate to your zeal and devotion to a cause... whether I happen to currently agree with it or not. The
problem is... and you ikely won't understand this for another decade or two, the problem is that you can't change things for the better by burning
them down.
To have a positive effect, you have to embrace that which works.
We didn't get here... thousands of years and hundreds of generations from Adam, because we screwed everything up. We did a few things right. If you
don't take care, you will kill the patient, not cure it.
But... I guess that all depends on what exactly you seek to accomplish. If your goal is to destroy, then that is what you will do... either to
yourself or those around you.
