Why does this site allow racist comments?

The area where the riots first broke out, it did seem like it was a black community. From the reports I watched, the people there seemed to have an issue with the way they were treated by police.

But so what?

The issue now isn't one of race. The riots that have broken out in other areas are not related to the original incident of that man who was shot. It was just criminal youths jumping on the bandwagon who saw an opportunity for mayhem. Many of them don't even know why they were doing it and from what i've read many of them are just making poor excuses and justifications.

It seems this thread has gone a slight bit sideways.

Does anybody have any reports of whats happening tonight?

E.g. in you're area,news or twitter?

Im in the dark on my end,seems the riots are not that important on the news anymore.

The only reliable news Im getting, is from friends and family on Farcebook...it does have its uses sometimes.

There is also this map, with new incidents in red. This is the only updating map I could find, so if theres a better one please post it

Libya Calls for British PM to esign Over Riots

Libya's deputy foreign minister Khaled Kaim told th Libyan news agency, JANA: "Cameron and his government must leave after the popular uprising against them and the violent repression of peaceful demonstrations by police. Cameron and his government have lost all legitimacy," he said.

Kaim went on to say: "These demonstrations show that the British people reject this government which is trying to impose itself through force." He called on the UN Security Council and the international community to not stay with its arms crossed in the face of the flagrant violation of the rights of the British people.

In Basingstoke all very quiet - went to PC World earlier on about an hour ago and they were forced to close by the police last night after rumours they were going to get looted, but no problems tonight so far
