They all watched the movie Dragnet too much. Christianity stole so many Pagan holidays, it's not even funny. Do you have your sheepskin leggings on?

Are you an atheist who strongly believes there is nothing more to existence than what we can touch and feel, or do you just not believe in the concept of god/gods? I too feel it's silly and childish to believe there is somebody on a cloud with a naughty/nice checklist and lightning bolts to throw. But I certainly can admit I have no idea if there are other planes of existence, driven by "forces" that are beyond our comprehension. So, I can't believe there isn't more to existence anymore than I can believe there is. I have no proof besides gut feelings, the same thing used by those who are religious. Agnosticism, the pourage Goldie Locks chose.

Anyway, back on topic...I can't believe that guy was on that island killing kids for 2 hours, that's insane.

Only flaw in your logic is that police here dosent wear arms either. I have so far heard nothing about them wanting to change this.

It's a shame he didn't kill prime minister.
Norway is such a totalitarian country i hope they will awake. They can only afford their socialist utopia because they have lot of oil. When the oil deposit will be depleted, they will have great problems.
edit on 23-7-2011 by piotrburz because: (no reason given)

Wow, unbelievable. You really are a piece of work arn't you. These "commies" you speak of were young innocent humans with their whole lives ahead of them

Yea whole life. They were brainwashed like in 1984.
Socialist doesn't deserve to live. They love to interrupt in other lives, telling you how to live. They have taken many liberties from people. Hell, norwegian children are no more under the care of parents. Read some stories, about parents whom kids were taken by social service workers., because they were "sad" in school. Parents even kidnap their kids from those "social facilities" and escape from norway.

Like a Oliver Wendell Holmes said[great person btw]
"Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man's nose begins"

edit on 23-7-2011 by piotrburz because: (no reason given)

Yet there are plenty of people and YOUTH that supports right wing. The youth right wings have such camps as well, and you join of your OWN FREE WILL.
You clearly know nothing about Norway and you seem a bit sick in your head as well if you seriously think these kids deserved to die.
And you call it totalitarian but yet you want to see socialist dead?? The completely lack of logic in your comments is amazing. I guess a free country in your eyes is a country where you only allow people to support right wing parties.

You actually sound like you have the same mindset as that maniac.

Funny and ironic, huh? How Christians are quick to cry foul when somebody who identifies as a Christian commits an act of terrorism,

I am still waiting to hear if he did it in the name of Christ.

juleol, I am very interested in your view point, and that of other Europeans.

Before this incident I never heard of the Norwegian youth camps, is this common in Europe?

And I am wondering if we have them here.

I don't need sheepskin these days, I need big rubber golashes to wade through all the crap.

If this story pans out to be just the way it is being reported right now, I will think that the Norse certainly have their Loki looking their way.

Nothing about that Facebook profile made sense to me - Christian conservative who looks stuffy as all get out, who likes pagan music and violent, gory supernatural type shows and techno trance music who proclaims himself a Christian while bombing one place then going to kill a bunch of teenagers(Who I hear were all Christian, it was a Christian camp?)

Some craziness of a very high order and some shapeshifting and roleplaying going on for sure. But surely this dude if it was JUST him, had some very organized thinking to do all he did. That's a lot of havoc per villian there. I ain't buying that's all there is.

I don't have any conspiracy theory or anything, but intellectually I am much less than satisfied with this explanation being put out.

I don't think he went nuts the day before. He started his vegetable firm three years ago, probably just to get access to fertilizers. At least this is what the police suspects at the moment. Time will tell, but I think this was a very premeditated act.

The police has also said now that he surrendered completely voluntarily and after the first questionings they have gotten the impression that he wants to explain why he did what he did. I'm not sure that we, the public, will ever know his reasons though...

And if he did? Then what? Will you denouce Christianity? Because there have been several terrorists attacks that were carried out in the name of Christianity (not just in western civilization)...

en.wikipedia.org...

Why doesn't every moderate Christian go out of their way to go on TV, and post on the internet that they denounce such violence (even if they're poor and don't have the means to do so) and that not all Christians want to kill non-believers or those who don't live their lives based on their morality? Why don't we see Christians going out of their way to speak out when Christian militant groups in Africa commit attrocities in the name of Christ? Because that's what many Christians call on moderate Muslims to do, even though from a human standpoint it should be common sense that most people, religious or not, have no desire to go out and kill people. It should go without saying.

I don't think there is an official story yet, since they have said nothing about his motives and reasons... In the meantime I think it is worthwile to try to put the existing pieces together with an open mind.

I dont know about rest of Europe, but I know it is common in Scandinavia.
These camps are for youth/young adults that are already politically involved and member of a youth party.
Most parties got such organisations and usually offer activities like similar to this "summer camp".
The most right wing party FRP got something called FPU for example, christian peoples party"KRF" got KRFU and so on.

Most people never join such a organisation.

This was actually an interesting piece of information, which was nearly missed since the relevant stuff gets swallowed up by all post with people bickering and/or posting information that has already been posted...

The mail adress is accosiated with Department of Informatics/The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at The University of Oslo.
Does anyone know what he studied? Or if he worked there?

It could also just be someone with almost the same name, since this person only has two names and is missing the "Behring" part of the name.

Yeah, I agree. That's one mixed up guy, if all that is accurate. I don't care if he was a admitted Satanist, those actions are far too extreme to be just some pent up rage from too much angry music. He wasn't trying to get away with it, he was trying to throw his life away, while taking alot of others down with him.

It was not christian camp, it was Socialist Youth Camp. I heard from radio that Socialist Youths from Finland also planned to to go there, but there is bigger camp in Austria soon, so they didn't went Oslo. They have tighten the security there now. Look this link:

I thing the bombing may have been to keep the police busy.
to give him more time on the island to kill as many as he could.
this will take some time to come together.
