Stumbled across this story this morning. A walker comes across the remains of a weird sea creature on a beach in the uk.. With most of these things they turn out to be decomposed whales but this creature does look bizarre..

Sorry I can't embed the picture or any ext text as I'm posting on my phone, you can find the article by following this link..

I know it's from the sun (which we generaly dislike here) but I don't think that's really an issue with a story such as this

Very interesting. Definitely a lot more fascinating than that fuzzy image of a so called lochness-like monster. What a joke that was.

It looks like some sort of giant sea-leech or something, but it's hard to tell. The skull on it is really weird.

killer whale. When they decompose the fins etc drop off. They do look very alien.

That sure is a strange looking carcass! Never seen anything like it in my years at sea.
The tail looks like the remnants of a dolphins fluke(horizontal tail).

also the width of the body is not orca like

i mean i can buy the fins falling off...but where the heck is the ribcage??

yeah, eye sockets are too high and body is way too small for 30ft long.

it's bony and probably mammal or reptile.

baleen whale fetus?

the skull could tell more.

Thanks for embedding the picture..

As one poster already pointed out, the whale theory doesn't seem to fit with the creature.. Where is the rib cage?

even a juvenile orca has a large ribcage and since most of the abdominal flesh seems intact i dont see how the ribcage could have vanished

not saying its not some sort of whale but definately not an orca imo

it could be buried in the sand, there is some large bone cluster/structure behind the head.

but the skull and the "teeth" holes are weird.

so is the lower jaw, looks

too big for a toothed whale like orca.

the decomp of the body is puzzling, what flesh is left? a muscle group?

Another pic from the article from a different angle showing the skull better

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/e906adcb5208.png[/atsimg]

the article says it could be a pilot whale

here is a pilot whale skull

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/b9c3f2383517.jpg[/atsimg]

and here is an orca skull from roughly the same angle

does not look like either of those to me tbh

I can't believe that people even bother to source stuff from the Sun of all places...

The Sun newspaper, out of all newspapers is the breeding ground of utter ignorance. How the writers of these articles can even count to 10 is one of science unanswered questions.

As stated in the op.. It being an article from the sun is really a non issue with a story like this...
We are not interested in what the journalist wrote, it is purely about the picture of the creature..

To be honest I don't understand why you even bothered leaving that comment..
It is completely off topic and irrelevant to the op..

What do you suggest? That in future we all trawl the Internet for hours trying to find the same picture from another source, just to keep you happy..
