A decision Tuesday by state Controller John Chiang puts into effect Proposition 25, a ballot initiative passed last November. Voters decided elected members of the state Assembly and Senate would not be paid if they failed to pass a balanced budget by the constitutional deadline, June 15.

That might help balance the budget.

Nice, can this be made national please? I can't think of a politico one that deserves a paycheck in the current state of play. Actually I wish that legislators were payed based on public opinion of the crap they pass as "law".
Then maybe their accounts would be as negative as our opinion of them.

Nice, I like it, Nobody should ever get paid for not doing the job they were elected to do.

I think I can see a little hope for the people, we need more of this kind of voting from the country, much more!

They should be thrown out if not tried for treason. The attack CA legislator have launched on the Constitution is criminal.
