Visiting Chicago

Hey all finally after 16 years I'm visiting the us next year and will be staying just outside chicago. Can you guys recommend places to visit and things to do?
I will obviously be doing sears tower.
I am also a food finatic so any great places to eat would be appreciated.

Depends on your interests, of course. But one must see place is the Art Institute on Michigan Avenue. It is one of the world's great art museums, rivaling the best of Paris. When I was there it was like a trip to an art history book, a good art history book!

That sounds right up my street, is the museum of science and industry still any good?

I was there quite a long time ago. If they are still there go and see the Blue Man Group. They have their own auditorium with superb bar. There are communication pipes all over the bar, that go from table to table so you can talk to people without even knowing who your talking too!! a bit like the old submarine comms tubes....great night.
