Maybe it was drill or test for all the rescue crews/reporters that are now on the ground to see what the reaction time is so that way that predicted 7.0 earthquake or aftershock that causes a new Tsunami, they will be prepared....

Yet everyone else including the Japanese government is saying the tsunami threat dispersed...

Gotta hand it to Fox News, milking every second of ratings it can get.

I think they may be a little busy for drills at the moment.

hang on - don't shoot the messengers... a japanese journalist, IN japan, was being interviewed on radio when the OP posted... the explosion & tsunami warning were both discussed...

*explosion confirmed

*tsunami warning raised, yet somehow "didn't come"... his own words

just be thankful, on behalf of the japanese people, that this is the case

never a surprise, how quick some people are to shoot others down

It's now on Yahoo

SOMA, Japan – Soldiers and officials in northeastern Japan are warning residents that the area could be hit by another tsunami and are ordering residents to higher ground. Sirens around the town of Soma went off late Monday morning and public address systems ordered residents to higher ground. Kyodo News Agency said the tsunami could be 10 feet (3 meters) high, citing Fukushima prefectural officials.

I'm not sure that the Japanese government are telling us the whole truth about the extent of the radiation leak. This just in about US troops:

More from Mr Goto via the BBC website:

Japanese engineer Masashi Goto, who helped design the containment vessel for Fukushima's reactor core, says the design was not enough to withstand earthquakes or tsunamis and the plant's builders, Toshiba, knew this. More on Mr Goto's remarks to follow.
