BBC has just reported that another reactor (number 3) has lost all emergency power and so there is a race on to try to provide alternative cooling.
They also report that at least 9 people have been found to have been exposed to excessive radiation levels-presumably these were workers.

Took the Japanease Government officials all day to admit that there was a problem, when everyone else knew there was a problem. After all we all saw the explosion, on the TV,news channels around the world.

Not to creat panic or to cover up what is going to be another disastrious event in that country,

The confusion is between the "warning time" and the time it took for the tsunami to reach shore.

The wave took about half an hour at least, but the warning only came in 5-7 minutes before the wave did (ie: 23-25 minutes after it was formed)

its a good thing they bought out all of those freeze dried food packets

Gosh yes, their psychic powers were right on the button for them to 'know' they were going to be needed so soon after they had ordered the supplies of dried food packets.
