Any Room For More Emoticons?

I was just curious if anyone ever considered adding a few more to the selection, and if so, what suggestions would you have?
I was wishing at times that there was an emoticon for:
Face-palm

"Doh!" Homer Simpson style

"Shakes fist" or curses at

I'm down with the "well enough, leave it alone" notion too......just thinkin'
Oh yea, I never did figure what the thumbs down with a yield sign in front meant

I vote for new and updated set. Have you noticed how some posts have a emoticon that isn't in the ATS selection? I always wondered where those came from and if there is a conspiracy on what members are allowed access to those.

Yea, we used to have a separate BTS section with it's own set, and I guess the "smart" members saved em' before they were gone. Maybe I can barter with some of those members, and trade em' some chinese lanterns for one.

ETA: I see your an older member, so you know of the BTS one's. Are you talking about other than those? I have not seen any, but I wonder if there are some we could download from the interwebz that would be compatible here?

I think people who use additional emoticons copy the link from another site, or upload them on to ATS.

I may be wrong, though.

I know of the BTS ones but there seems to be a lot more. Is there a way to "test" an emoticon before it is used in a post because when previewing a post before actually replying doesn't show the actual emoticon in action. Maybe a nice "super mod' will give us a list of different emoticons that are verified to work.

I just guessed that's the way to do it, I'm not sure whether there's an easier way, though.

As someone who uses smilies myself, I agree that it would be good if we had a wider variety than just the basic ones on the right hand side.

There should be some to suit everybody !

I am surprised this one has not been used more on ATS for flame extinguishing:

I'd like to introduce a nice sardonic emoticon which portrays my knowledge of, and level of compassion for, another members' sharing of their thoughts with me.

Perhaps a clocked mason offering a chalice of some sort of elixir vitae by way of me toasting their wisdom and wishing them a long life with it would be apt.

Maybe an iconic alien figure giving them a mobile phone and stating they should call home to say they've hooked up a roofies party and won't be back tonight.

Or a simply atheist offering them a guaranteed entry to heaven or hell in exchange for all their possessions.

Nothing fancy or too elaborate though.
